It was my first time visiting Eddie’s Café Restaurant yesterday 8/08/25 (Saturday), recommended by one of my patients. We didn’t have a booking, but the staff were very kind and promptly found us a table. The ambience, decorations, and live music created a very pleasant atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. We ordered crispy pata, garlic fried rice, fried calamari, and beef kaldereta. When the dishes arrived, several issues came up:
Fried calamari: The portion was very small, consisting mostly of the end pieces rather than calamari rings. It felt as though the main pieces had been used elsewhere, and this plate was made from the leftovers.
Beef kaldereta: While the flavour of the soup and sauce was excellent, the potato was undercooked and hard. When my wife tried to cut it, it slipped from the plate and splashed sauce on her dress.
Crispy pata: The serving had mostly bones, just three small pieces of meat, and a few bits of pork skin.
I’m not someone who likes to complain, but I raised these issues with the waiter, and to their credit, they replaced all the dishes. The replacements tasted much better, particularly the beef kaldereta, and we also enjoyed the lemonade.
I believe the restaurant should ensure that the dishes match what is shown on the menu, both in quality and portion size. I’m happy to return in the future and hope these issues...
Read moreMy first visit, I was asked if I had a booking (I didn’t) and was advised to book through Facebook or call next time. For my second visit, I booked a day early via Facebook but didn’t receive a confirmation (my mistake), so we decided to walk in. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated as the place was packed, and the staff were extremely busy running back and forth. However, there was a noticeable delay, with food piling up before being served.
Once seated, we placed our order and were informed it might take an hour. Drinks arrived, but the glasses were dirty. Unfortunately, the food took two hours to arrive. Among our orders were two Bulanglang dishes served in stainless pots—one had an unlit tealight, while the other had none. Our crispy pata kare-kare was already cold. We were billed $260.
I understand that the restaurant is new to the area and may not have anticipated the busy Friday Valentine’s Day crowd, but the wait time and overall experience were disappointing. Additionally, I almost slipped twice in the wet bathroom hallway (no warning sign), and the mirror was placed unusually high (though not a major concern).
Despite the setbacks, the food itself was great, but the long wait and overall experience left much...
Read moreCame for dinner.. Not bad. Staff were pretty good, attentive and with a smile.. During busy times, they're under the pump and you'd have to press the bell a few times. Our food was tasty but always came room temperature like it had been sitting there for 5mins. We had to ask them for it to be reheated, which was fine. I ordered the pork kare kare the 2nd visit, and i noticed all our meals were never hot. The welcome broth is delicious though and came out hot, they just forgot to give us cups for them. They do fix any errors straight away. I had sand in my leafy vegetable for the kare kare, but I didn't want to fuss and just ate it anyways.. Weekends have a fun vibe, if you're up for something exciting (karaoke, music, singer). I did enjoy my halo halo, it was served in a nice tall glass and was full of glorious goodness! I do like the staff, atmosphere, serving size and value for money. A good hospitality...
