Absolutely addicted to Ocean Dragon's dishes, every single one is a treat! I'd normally be lucky to get Chinese once a month, but since moving nearby about a month ago I have plowed my way through half their menu! There hasn't been a single dish (and all up including shared dishes I think I've tried at least 15) that has done anything but amaze!
At first I was a little reluctant to buy something because the prices were higher than I'm used to, but I found that it certainly did not mean they weren't good value! The quality alone would've justified an even higher price, but then on top of that the portion sizes are very impressive! Even dishes like King Prawns where the ingredients are expensive are just loaded up with meat and half the takeout container have to be held shut with lacky bands because they're so full!
The restaurant itself is a really great dining experience. It's has a relaxing pleasant atmosphere and the view of the ocean is just fantastic!
The whole place looks very clean especially for a Chinese restaurant and you can see the entire kitchen from the entrance....
Read moreDo not use the online ordering system. I ordered online on the ocean dragon website but what wasn't evident was that I was ordering for delivery. I live a km away so wanted to pick it up. I immediately rang the Ocean Dragon to chenge the order to pick up but was told I couldn't do that. I them waited for about 40 mins when I got a message to say the order was on its way and expected in about 5 mins. A couple of minutes later I got a message to say the driver had cancelled the order. I rang the restaurant and was told that the Uber driver wouldn't wait the 5 mins for the food to be finished and he cancelled the order. I told the restaurant person that I would pick it up but she said that wasnt possible. I pointed out that they had breached the contract and I could legally cancel it. I was then told I could pick it up which I did. I still had toay the delivery fee. I just received another message saying the driver had picked up the order and was on his way. What a stuff up. Read moreWent for dinner last night and what was once a family favourite for over 20 years has declined a lot. Ordered the chicken satay and steamed dim sim’s for starters. The satay was deep fried and served with a smear of bland sauce that didn’t have any resemblance to a peanut satay sauce . The dim sims were served in a little bowl without any dipping sauces and looked like they were straight out of the freezer. I had to ask for a dipping sauce. The mains - sizzling beef and Kong Po chicken- were ok, but both dishes had large amounts of raw green capsicum chunks throughout them that were very unappetising. The service was poor and the young wait staff looked scruffy and a bit frazzled. The kitchen was chaotic. I used to love this place but the standards have dropped dramatically. We ate at 5:30 to enjoy the sunset but it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Don’t know if...
