Well after it was settled that the restaurant was called Terracotta Trattoria NOT Terracotta Palace the night was off to a good start.
Really friendly staff, eager to help and serve us. I came with a good bunch of people which contributed greatly to the experience as the people you're with always do. Friends had bruschetta for starters which looked yummy and fresh. For mains I shared a delicious specials pizza with my friend which had fig, goats cheese and lots of love all over it(I'll try and post a photo). Really enjoyed our night at this place for a friend's surprise birthday dinner. She was surprised i think. Other friends had a delicious pasta (which I had a taste of and was yum as!) Another friend had the gnocchi and after determining that gnocchi is not baby potatoes picked before they reach maturity to be served as a delightful Italian dish she quite enjoyed it. (I also tried a bite and it was a tasty treat). We did have a slight wait for food as it became quite busy in the little palace also. We understand that though. It wasn't too bad.
I think they could improve wait staff uniform with blue denim jeans/shorts and a black top with a classic style custom apron stating restaurant name in same font on sign (To affirm the well picked name of the restaurant and avoid confusion with any other names).
Enjoyed studying the wall we sat adjacent to, the lamp shades really complimented the bricks and added to atmosphere.
Very nice place I would certainly come back for the good food and service. Good job here guys and keep it up. Wauchope needs a nice little place like...
Read moreIt’s hard to understand how two of the best Italian restaurants on the mid north coast prevail in low population areas such as Wauchope and Laurieton, but they do! I suppose if it’s a pleasant dining experience the customers will keep coming back. We visited TT tonight and were fortunate to get the last two seats in the house (we booked ahead). Upon entering we were immediately ushered to our table and chilled, bottled water was placed by the waitress. We proceeded to order the Arancini as an Entree and were very impressed with flavour and consistency. For mains we ordered the Potato Gnocchi Ragu and the Lemon Risotto (which included 7 fresh prawns). The ‘home made’ gnocchi was small in size but large in taste, and smothered with tender pulled beef. We shared our meals and we both agreed they were exceptional, tasty, enjoyable meals. Highly recommended! The menu provides a good selection of meals and the wine list comprehensively covers most wine regions in Australia. The competition in Laurieton is tough but we’ll have no hesitation in recommending the Terracotta...
Read more3 Strikes. Strike 1, I ordered Anatra alle Arancia. A small dry duck leg, drizzled with sickly sweet orange sauce, served cold. My partner suffered through a glob of Lemon Risotto, that had the texture and blandness of overcooked oatmeal. The waitress on duty that night couldn't serve alcohol and the owner was nowhere to be found so we were left to swallow it all down with water. 2/10 Strike 2, Take away pizza, how could ya go wrong? 1 large Gambaretto to go. We got it home to find unpeeled prawns on an under-cooked doughy base. 3/10 Strike 3, I was invited to a party, or there'd be no 3. Ah well, I ordered the signature dish in anticipation of a decent 3rd time the charm feed. Scallopine Saltimbocca. What i was served was 1 thin dry strip of meat smothered in barbecue sauce with congealed cheese melted on it, with roast potatoes on the side and some wilted lettuce. My partner went for the Prawns and Chorizo, 2 prawns and a slice of sausage in a tepid watery tomato soup. 2/10 for the potatoes. 3 strikes,...
