Watermans Cafe — Restaurant in Wauchope

We have been to this cafe in the past and has been our go too when we go to Wauchope. Yesterday around midday we had a coffee each and a delicious vanilla slice. Unfortunately when we arrived the Guy making coffee ( would of liked to have said Barrister) was less than pleasant to my wife correcting her on asking for a cappuccino on full cream milk before she was able to finish the order which included a cappuccino on almond milk. The worst thing about all of this was the coffees were unpalatable as they were so bitter we couldn’t even force them down. This is not what we expected from this cafe as it has been so much better...

Unimpressed with the service. Waiting at counter while other staff talked with each other. No one acknowledged myself and another customer waiting to be served. Eventually a guy in a fluoro vest showed. Very unfriendly. No hello how are you. Made you feel like you were was an imposition. Looked like he was off a road gang. Asked if I had covid checked in. My phone with the service nsw app was sitting on counter. It was like he disbelieved me. Asked twice if I was with someone. Food was ok but overpriced....

If you love avocado I would not recommend breakfast here. Smashed Avo was avocado out of a bottle squeezed onto toast, tasted like a very cheap avo dip, who does that? Farmers are crying out for you to buy their avo's, and they are so cheap. There are farms just up the road. I had a friend who had the same experience 12mths ago, so it isn't a new thing and looks like it won't change. Can't say any of the other breakfasts looked enticing, especially at the price.
