First time customer last night. Busy night, freo game on so lots of phone orders as well as pick up takeaway. I ordered at the counter and asked how long it would be. 20 minutes was the estimate but I figured it would be a bit longer due to the demand. I headed to the nearby Tavern to watch the game and returned about 30 minutes later. My order had been accidentally forgotten I think and the young girl at the counter apologised profusely. Within 10 minutes my order came out and Steve (owner) came out and apologised to me and handed me a $10 note as a thank you. This was totally unexpected but gratefully accepted. The food was the best Chinese I have eaten in ages. The service error was fixed immediately and they created a golden moment from a lead brick. The food has been great every time. The spring rolls and satay chicken being my favourite. I've ordered satay chicken at every restaurant I've been to and Camellia has the best.
The decor is a little dated, but we enjoy it, as it reminds us of when we were younger. The lighting is subdued, and it's a very calm and peaceful environment. It's never too crowded when we go, which suits us, as we're both very introverted.
I envy the people who live so close to this gem. We travel all the way from Armadale on public transport just to eat here....

Chinese restaurants far closer to us have dropped them off their menu. Discovering this, we tried camellia last evening for the first time in years simply because of proximity. The order was read out to my husband when he picked it up, it was complete. Returned home nine minutes away, no prawn cocktail! Phoned and was told it was still in the fridge, come back and get it!
