Chapters Bistro – A Hidden Gem in Currambine Chapters Bistro is one of those wonderful surprises—tucked away at the far end of a shopping centre near the Hoyts cinema, you’d easily miss it if you didn’t know better. But swing open the doors and wow—you’re greeted by a buzzing, lively atmosphere that immediately lifts your spirits.
On entry, there’s a lectern with a “wait to be seated” sign, and a staff member promptly guides you to your table. If you’re booking ahead, they do take credit card details with a per-person charge for no-shows, which in today’s climate is quite understandable and fair.
The bistro itself has a smart modern European feel—wooden features, antique-style light fittings (which could do with a dusting, if I’m being honest), high ceilings, and room dividers dressed with greenery and wine barrels. It’s open plan, with the kitchen fully visible, adding a bit of theatre to your dining experience as you watch the chefs at work.
Once seated, service is swift and professional. Drinks orders are taken and delivered promptly, and what impressed me most was that for our table of six, the staff knew exactly who had ordered what—no guessing, no confusion.
We visited on a Sunday, so naturally we chose from their Sunday roast menu—an inviting choice of roast pork or chicken, served with duck fat potatoes, oven-roasted vegetables, broccolini, a large Yorkshire pudding, and rich gravy. For those who might question a Yorkshire pudding without beef—take a deep breath, as I did, and just enjoy it. It works.
The roast pork was outstanding—tender, falling apart perfectly, and the crispy crackling was exactly what you hope for. Paired with the duck fat potatoes, it was a meal worth returning for.
Chapters also offers a great selection of beers on tap, quality wines, mocktails and cocktails, and a good range of soft drinks for those playing designated driver.
Would I come back? Absolutely. The staff were polite, attentive without being intrusive, and kept an eye on the table without hovering. Food and drink prices were reasonable, particularly for the quality. Noise levels were just right—we could chat comfortably without battling booming music, thanks to the thoughtful layout and high ceilings.
In short, Chapters Bistro is a cleverly designed, welcoming spot that ticks all the right boxes for a social gathering or a relaxed meal. Highly...

The entree chorizo was a huge disappointment, comes with only 5 slices of chorizo for $22, although the sauce was divine, this dish is significantly under portioned for its price. Crispy potato even though crispy on the outside, the individual pieces would have been more enjoyable if they were in smaller bite size pieces. The steak on this visit were all a bit more chewy compared to our previous visit and sauces a bit too light in flavour. The chips were a bit hard and dry, no where near as crispy as our 1st visit. Felt very disappointed on this visit.
1st visit: Our way to this place on the 1st attempt had a slight glitch due to AI managing the calls, advising no booking spot available but to try walk-in instead, which resulted in us being turned away after a 30mins drive due to full house. Owners have since addressed this AI phone advise
We decided to try again but this time with a confirmed booking. Best decision ever to return. Services were absolutely amazing from beginning to end, everyone we’ve encountered were all friendly. Anna is a customer service superstar, her smile and friendliness just makes you feel so welcoming.
Their Wednesday $25 Steak Chips and Salad special simply top notch, quality steak cooked to perfection as requested, fresh quality salad and crispy chips. Both the mushroom and red wine jus sauces were delicious. They even slice up the steak before serving it to the table. The prawn linguine was also very tasty. Each of them in great serving portions too. It was definitely a very enjoyable dinner experience and glad we returned even after being failed by AI. We also had a chat to one of the owners, very impressed to find out that they always take on customer reviews and actively take actions to improve for even better customer experiences.
Highly recommended, but make sure to book ahead (especially...
Read moreOn Sunday - the 21st of May, my friends and I had lunch at Chapters Bistro. We were so disappointed and annoyed with the manager on duty. Before we had even sat down, he reminded us that we had two hours for our lunch. When the waiter came over to take our order, we said we were waiting for the last person to arrive. The manager came over to remind us that our table was booked for only two hours.
After we finished our lunch, he asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. It was now 1.30 & as we deliberated if we wanted coffee/dessert he took the opportunity to once again remind us that they had customers coming in to take over our table. This guy could not wait for us to leave! Once my friends finished their dessert which was now about 1.45- he said that they need to set the table & basically ushered us to the counter to pay.
Our lunches were good sizes & compliments to the chef.
When I couldn’t finish my huge lunch (lamb shanks and gravy) I asked for a takeaway & he brought over a singular piece of aluminium foil! Really!! I had to offload the potatoes, lamb & vegetables onto the thin silver foil myself. When coupled with the gravy, it was far from a pleasant end to the lunch. It’s pathetic that this restaurant can’t even afford to have takeaway containers.
If you don’t want your customers to take their remainders home, then say so...Don’t treat your customers this way. As I picked up the takeaway pack, my finger slipped through the thin foil & it started to drip gravy. One of the waiters kindly gave me a second sheet of foil to wrap up my food.
What a shame that the whole experience was ruined by this dismal service.
Rest assured we will never repeat...
