To start, the service is very mediocre and the workers hardly look like they want to be here. They don't listen to requests, I asked for no salad for either my lasagna or tenders and they both came out with salad. had to give the salad plate back to the lady as there wasnt even space on my table for it. This goes to show how careless they are for wasting food.
I've never had an above average meal here despite ordering different things every time. Today I ordered a lasagna and asked for no salad on the side. Instead? I get a lasagne the size of my palm with a salad bigger than the portion.
After realising how small the lasagna was, I was very grateful I also ordered chicken tenders until realising how overcooked and dry they were. Nothing more unpleasant than eating dry chicken.
I usually order the fluffy koala which you can't go wrong with. While I love the fluffy koala, it is yet again another example of the carelessness of waste produced by dome. While I've had it dine in multiple times they continuously serve it in a takeaway cup which would likely cause huge wastage judging how popular the drink is.
Today as it's 15° out I tried their hot chocolate which tastes worse than a pod machine drink. Water with possibly a sprinkle of chocolate and 4cm of froth.
You're better off going to a small business owned cafe, get more bang for your buck and better quality. Even then some small businesses are also cheaper.
Though I've given dome a good few redemption attempts I'm yet again leaving with the "overpriced and overrated" judgment...
Read moreFor nothing more than convenience, we dine at the cafe from time to time. We’ve done so since day 1. Today, things changed. My partner loves coffee. Today she was told ‘the owners have decided to no longer allow their customers to buy a long macchiato’, because the shot is too expensive.
At the Dome Currambine, the long term staff are drab, unsmiling, unfriendly, and definitely unhelpful. Not serving us a coffee is just wrong. The guy that served us today has NEVER EVER smiled at us, said hello, or offered any nice words of welcome. Most of the staff are the same. Spend your time with warm people, not robotic mental nomads.
For years, we’ve felt the negative energy of this cafe. Today just cemeneted how we felt about the place for years. We offered to pay extra, but NO.
I’m all for supporting local business, but the toxic ownership of this place, created an unnecessary unhappy cafe environment. There are other places to visit. Life’s too short for this type of rubbish.
There is an excellent cafe 4 mins away called Burns Beach cafe. The staff are friendly, smiling, welcoming, helpful and flexible. The cafe is old, but has a GREAT beachside athmosphere and is well worth the extra 4 minutes drive. You’ll love it.
6 minutes away is another brilliant cafe called Leap Frogs. Its set is beautiful botanic gardens. Mark and Karen the owners, employ ONLY friendly warm people who make the experience a great place to visit. You’ll love the 10 acres of manicured gardens. Its like being in a little part of paradise. The extra drive is...
Read morePreviously I've had good experiences here, even chose to post up a positive review a few months ago as the staff and service were wonderful - especially on a busy day where you could expect a delay in service etc.
However, last Friday, 1st December was my birthday and my wife had organised in advance to have a cake (purchased elsewhere and agreed with Dome manager) ready as a suprise. Every other Friday we meet with between 16 and 22 other friends and enjoy a coffee etc. and a relax for an hour or so. Last Friday there were 22 of us at the Dome. When my wife asked one of the very helpful staff about the cake she witnessed some quite unpleasant exchanges between the manager and staff. The manager had decided that our pre-arranged cake wasn't worth his staffs time in taking it out of the box and he was quite abusive about it. His attitude was horrendous and for whatever reason he treated his staff, and my wife, with what can only be described as contempt. When I heard this, after we were home again, I was horrified.
Simply put, we will not be frequenting either this Dome or Joondalup (as owned/managed by same person) again. I have spoken to the organiser of our catch-ups and we will meet at another cafe.
The majority of our friends also frequent this cafe as we all live locally. Those that we have shared our experience with will also refuse to go to either Dome again.
Totally stunned at this mans arrogant and abusive attitude towards his staff and customers. It's a shame as the staff have always been...
