Today I visited the Dome in the Bunbury Forum and ordered cappuccinos for my husband and me plus one mega choc chip cookie. We sat down and only a few minutes later our coffees were delivered. I thought the waitress was going back to get our cookie as she arrived with a coffee in each hand. (a tray would have helped) But I was wrong. My husband drank half of his coffee and still no cookie. I took the table number post to the desk and saw a waitress getting a cookie out of a jar. I asked if it was mine and showed her the table post. I was told that the cookie was indeed mine so I asked for it. I was then told I couldn’t have it as it was against OH&S to give customers the food they have paid for. It was a biscuit on a plate!!!. If I’d been thinking quicker, I would have asked for it to be a takeaway in a bag but I didn’t think of this until I returned to my table and waited further for my cookie.to eat with my cold coffee. Come on Dome! Either deliver an order all together or allow a customer to pick up their snack from the counter. Hot food would be different I suppose, but one lonely cookie!!! Also, I noticed a tip jar on the counter. Why would I tip the person taking my money? It’s beginning to get ridiculous! A tip is given for service above and beyond the norm and should be given to individuals at customer discression,, not to the establishment when the customer doesn’t know where the tip...
Read moreI stopped by here one afternoon, feeling tired and wanting to enjoy a coffee break. After placing my order and sitting down, I started noticing how things were running.
There was a young blonde girl who seemed to be doing everything — taking orders, making drinks, running around non-stop. It honestly looked like she was the only one working. Meanwhile, a barista wearing sunglasses was busy chatting and playing with someone who had strollers, and the floor staff was leisurely walking around.
About 10–15 minutes later, I still didn’t have my coffee. I walked over to the counter and saw three cups just sitting there. The floor staff hadn’t realized, and the barista was still distracted, nowhere near her station. Floor staff saw me at there, she quickly picked up the coffees and handed them out. Shortly after, the barista finally returned, and the floor staff went off shift.
Watching all this was honestly exhausting, maybe because I used to work in management and know how stressful it can be. I really felt for the young blonde girl. she was doing her best under tough conditions. This actually happened three months ago (March 27, 2025 at 2:39 PM), but I still felt I needed to share it. Under poor management, good people often ended...
Read moreAttended this venue today for lunch. My husband ordered 2 coffees with skim milk, and salt and pepper squid with a serve of chips to share with me. Coffees arrived within 5 minutes. Food did not arrive at all. After almost 25 minutes,my husband queried our order and was told that they had no squid left. No-one had approached us to say that the squid was unavailable. He said ok, we'll have prawns instead and asked to speak to the manager. I guess it was the shift manager that came to the table, and we complained about the service and the luke warm coffees that had been supplied half an hour before. He asked who had served us and my husband indicated the cashier. He said that she would have told him it was a 20 minute wait. She had not (?? we would have gone elsewhere had we known, and they did not have what we ordered anyway). Upshot was that we received the prawns and chips, and our cold coffees were removed but they declined to replace them, and said it was not possible. However, he gave us a $20 voucher to spend at any Dome. Weird. Would have been a nice gesture to offer us fresh coffee with our food - which we had paid for. Dome is out $20 and we got no coffee with our food..... prawns were...
