The attitude of the new staff and the quality of the food is disgraceful and we will not be returning, such a shame because this used to be some of the best chinese in perth.
My Partner and I have been coming to dragon village for years as their food is different to every other chinese restaurant and we love the quality and service. Tonight will be the last time we ever go back, the man at the front which i assume was the new owner made a sad attempt at a joke when my partner came in to pick up our order, the man stared blankly at my partner and then my partner said hey, im here to pick up a phone order, the man replied āthats niceā and continued to just stare until my partner said the name of who the order was for, the man then fumbled around before getting someone else to work the eftpos machine for him. The food was disgusting and not worth the money we paid, the portion sizes are also significantly smaller and do not reflect the price. The lemon chicken sauce was watered down and had no flavour at all. Which used to have the best flavour and came in a large tub, the sweet and sour pork used to have a light crispy batter and amazing flavour in small strips, its now cheap cuts of pork and drowned in heavy batter to cover the taste of the cheap meat, the satay beef was mostly lettuce and is not worth the price you pay for the portion size. Have had better at the chinese buffets in shopping centre food halls.
Such a shame about the food and the new staff as this used to be one of our favourite...
Ā Ā Ā Read morehave been going here for 25+ years and was my favourite local restaurant it has unfortunately changed owners and with the changing of owners they have not only completely changed the menu but also the quality.
used to be everything we got from here was done in massive portions and was always hot and fresh. not anymore every dish we got last time was either lukewarm or cold and the fried rice was so dry it was inedible the serving sizes were also a joke. we highly suspect its due to them now catering to uber eats and being open for lunch time and as such anything they don't sell at lunch is just reheated to be resold at dinner.
they have also removed several popular dishes along with changing their noodles in the noodle dishes they used to be thick noodles that not only were filling but were great for holding the sauce. they have replaced these with thin rice noodles which not only don't hold any sauce but feel dry to eat.
would recommend you take your business else where to somewhere you can get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEnd of an era ⦠hadnāt realised until today that there were new owners which explains a great deal about our confusion last night . . Our takeaway last night was definitely not up to our past takeaways over the 30 years weāve been going there . 2 ( pretty small) spring rolls which were tasteless for $5.40!! Satay chicken tasted mildly of satay with more cauliflower than chicken and Mongolian lamb pretty glutinous which has never been the case before . And worst of allā¦. No Scallion chicken on the menu !!! If the new owners are reading the reviews , I hope they understand that the quality of the dishes that have come from that kitchen in the past have been exceptional. I also understand that they have big shoes to fill , and obviously want to make a go of it , but honestly, people will not pay the prices they are now charging for very basic, ordinary food . I wish them well , but they must listen to their customers and offer better quality , and better...
