Dusty Buns is by far the best bakery I have ever been to in my life. I love donuts and the donuts at Dusty Buns are truly incredible, with a wide variety of flavors such as chocolate, raspberry jam, vanilla, lemon meringue, salted caramel, nutella, and rocky road. (I think rocky road (chocolate, jam and marshmallows) is my favorite but unfortunately the flavors cycle and sometimes it isn't available, but whenever it is, I always get it!)

I have eaten donuts at many places and the one thing that stands out about the donuts at Dusty Buns is the dense filling. In basically every other place I have been to, the donuts are filled with maybe 25 - 50% filling (e.g., jam) maximum. In Dusty Buns, the filling is very generous and truly fills the interior of the donut. The quality of the filling is incredibly high and I would argue that the raspberry jam inside the jam donuts is the best I have ever had (just as a jam). The bread quality is also exceptional and I absolutely love the donuts so much I could happily eat them without filling.

I love the donuts so much I haven't tried much else, but I did try the cronut once (blueberry and lemon, if I remember correctly) and it was beautiful as well. (A cronut is a mix of a donut and a croissant and the croissant quality in the cronut easily surpassed any other croissant I have ever eaten.) I think there is something in the quality and freshness of the baked goods here that simply surpasses anything I have tasted, including in top tier European bakeries.

The Origins Market itself (where Dusty Buns is located) is a beautiful place with plenty of places to sit and enjoy your bakery. Moreover, there are plenty of amazing eating places in the vicinity, including pizza, pub food, ice cream and they are all exceptional so you can have lunch as well after having your bakery. The owners are extremely friendly and can even store bakery items for you if you want to come and collect them later in the day (by 3pm at the latest) after travelling around (the bakery items run out quickly so I encourage going early, usually 11am was still ok in terms of all the options still being available but I think by 1pm, most items run out). If I want to take bakery items back home at the end of the day, then I do this especially in the summer so they are refrigerated at Dusty Buns and I don't drive around with them in the car in the peak sun.

I think the strongest endorsement I can give of Dusty Buns is that I have regularly driven almost 3 hours from Perth just to have bakery here. The bakery is so good that almost all day trips I take from Perth are to Busselton just because I would get the chance to have these (and you can also take one home with you for the next day) even though I have pretty much explored it all in the Busselton area. The donuts are quite filling, so even if I eat one at around 10am or 11am and I am very hungry (I usually have breakfast around 7am but have to drive from Perth), I am full.

In conclusion, this is the best bakery I have ever been to in my life and nothing else comes close. The other reviews (and average rating of 4.9 on Google) are very accurate and talk about how fantastic all the items are so whatever you like, I strongly encourage you to come to Dusty Buns and try it out! I have attached photos of the donuts (rocky road, lemon meringue, raspberry jam, vanilla), chocolate eclair and blueberry and lemon cronut below! You can see how beautiful they are and they taste as amazing...

Can’t recommend Dusty’s more highly. I’ve never been excited to roll out of bed in the morning and have skipped breakfast most of my life, but since these guys opened up with their glorious sourdough bread and amazing sweet and savoury goodies, I run to the kitchen for my morning coffee with a side of Dusty’s delightful fruit sourdough. I don’t even really want to post a review in fear of too many people catching on and ruining my life by taking the last loaf because honestly the days I’ve had to go without my toast have been some very sad sad days in my life. I now keep my freezer stocked because no thanks to that kinda sadness!

Growing up I always dreamed of owning my own cake shop one day, but I now concede I could never compete with such passion and perfection so I will leave it to these guys to live out my dreams and rely on them to just feed me their goodies instead. Friendliest most welcoming service even when they’re run off their feet and exhausted and almost dying - these guys are just SUPERHUMAN genuinely wonderful passionate people and we’re pretty bloody lucky to have such lovely smiling faces in our neighbourhood serving us up their epic goodies.

If you are not gluten intolerant (which I kinda am, but meh, so worth it) I HIGHLY recommend you pay Dusty Buns a visit ASAP. Just don’t even think about trying to buy the last almond croissant because I WILL fight to the death if it comes to...

On my way to work decided to google bakeries close by while I was in the area heading towards work. Dusty buns came up as five stars which is a rarity so I decided to investigate find out what this bakery is about. First time was lost couldn’t find the place so decided to come back couple weeks later 300 km away to try again and find the place this time I asked couple of locals. I pointed me in the direction of origin markets still couldn’t find a place ask another local in the markets and they pointed in the direction. It’s not a big bakery but the Tucker looks gorgeous. if you travel hundreds kilometres away for holiday or work to find a top-notch bakery you want to buy as much you can eat & take back or home. I had a local saying jalapeño cheese and bacon sausage roll is awesome. They ran out so decided on a spinach ricotta ‘we all know not easy to find a place that can crack a superb ricotta!!! My gosh this bakery has to be number one in the state. The stuff have a passion for taste & people also creating new flavours I found out. The owners are gifts from above. Please don’t put up your price in a hurry:) I be in contact with the local council regards more signage regards travelers finding this blessed place Mark my word. You made brother & I day, hence the long message! Well done on using your gifts & shearing them with us. Word gets around...

We went to Dusty Buns. We were so impressed. You have to check this place out. The owners, Mel and Joel are lovely people and passionate about what they do. The attention to detail, pride and care in their products is everything you’d expect from a gourmet country bakery. We had the green peppercorn steak pie, the butter chicken pie and beef sausage roll. All were outstanding. The pepper steak pie. I think this is my new fav. It’s different to the usual but damn it was tasty. I loved the green peppercorn sauce with a more creamy nature. The heat build slowly and it’s more fragrant. Plentiful chunks of tender beef encased in perfect pastry. Loved the buttery short crust bottom and flaky top. Held together perfectly from first bite to last. 10/10. The butter chicken pie was awesome. Mel explained the traditional recipe and preparation. It was bloody delicious. Great spice, good heat, and tender chicken. Spot on. Again, 10/10. The sausage roll was awesome. One of the best I’ve had. Flaky beautiful pastry. Flavourful filling. A great balance of richness without being oily what so ever. Brilliant. I was dead quiet from first to last bite engrossed in happiness. 10/10. Dusty Buns will be a firm stop over when passing through Busselton. I just wish we could have gone again as there were so many things I wanted to try.

Dusty Buns is a pure delight. We headed there over the weekend to try them out after I stumbled across them on Instagram. We tried three of the pies (Pepper Steak, Chunky Steak & Lamb with Rosemary) and each delivered with outstanding flavours with pies filled to the brim. My favourite was the a Pepper Steak. Made with a Green Peppercorn sauce and I don’t think I have tried one better. We also had a generous amount of the desserts on offer and again we were not let down. The Mille Feuille, Jam Donut and Banoffee Cronut will forever be in my dreams. They are located in Busselton WA around two hours south of Perth. These guys are definitely worth the drive. And the best thing is you can get cold pies to take home and eat later when you get a Dusty Buns craving, which you will. Finally the owners of the business are extremely accommodating and love your feedback all of which was positive from my side. They are lovely 🥰 A million out of ten for these guys!! Go now!! You won’t be disappointed 🤤 🤤
