Robyn and Linda at Excelsior Deli are the warmest proprietors I have come across in a long time. They take the time to greet all their customers with smiles and hellos and they have befriended many, like my family. Excelsior is not my local cafe but rest assured that whenever I visit Shenton Park I make sure that I pop in for a coffee, and I often make this my go-to to meet up with friends and family for lunches and morning teas. The food is fantastic and the coffee is great but the service is wonderful from everyone there, including Robin and Linda! I recently read a review here on Google of Excelsior that was less than favourable. I was witness to the incident referenced in the review. It was more a reflection of the reviewer's behaviour and feelings, and not a true account of what happened. Both Robyn and Linda enjoy the company of children, big and small, in their cafe. I regularly see kids standing at the counter watching and waiting for their baby chinos and kids peering around the door of the kitchen to say hello to whomever is cooking there. I grew up in Shenton Park, went to school there, have close friends and family who live there who are regulars at Excelsior. This includes families with young children who are always welcome there. Shenton Park is a better place for having not only Excelsior Deli, but for having Robyn and...
Read moreVery average customer service, no sense of welcome. Upon arrival there was no greeting & when I asked for table water she pointed to the area, I had to fill the jug & retrieve the glasses, not what I expected anyway. We had rang & booked days earlier so they knew we were coming, we seated ourselves, had to ask for menus which again were just pointed at on the counter. Unfortunately they forgot one our meals & I had to follow this up only to be told that it's because they r busy, they weren't that busy & the rest of the table of 5 had nearby finished, it was obvious. When we eventually received the order they'd forgotten the cutlery! No salt or pepper on tables so I didn't bother as it probably would've only been pointed at aswell. Self bloody service! I thought the food would make up for the lack of service, the menu looked exciting & presentation but unfortunately was average, bacon was dark, oily & over cooked, eggs tasted pasty & weird. The hot drinks arrived quickly that was good but the Dirty Chai was definitely an acquired taste, not what was expected. We all agreed we have all had better, left feeling underwhelmed & unappreciated...
Read moreShocking customer service by the owner- maybe she shouldn't be working with the public if she is so obnoxious! Is life really that bad that you can't even smile!! Today this very unpleasant lady told me 'not to come back 'to her shop because a glass was accidentally dropped on the floor! And twice to 'move my pram' in a very nasty tone , while I was getting organised! I most definitely will not be back as the little pantry is so much nicer, service with a smile goes a long way. Anytime I have been @excelsior, (which I'm sad to say has been a lot ) the same owner has been extremely rude , lacking basic manners of hello and thank you! !! The young girls that work here are beautiful that is the positive I can write about. Walk another few hundred meters and enjoy your dining/take away experience at the little pantry!! They appreciate everyones custom! I most definitely won't be back here and I will ensure everyone I know or speak to will hear of this experience!
A terrible experience I won't forget during this festive season which should be filled with peace love...
