Gone down hill big time since new ownership.

Where to start...!!! Price increase. Tills that don't show the customer the price for what they are paying for. 'What would you like.........just tap here on the little white box that reminds us all that 'you are simply a money making customer to us that is costing us money everytime you grace us with your patronage', and as such, we will charge that back to you. 1.2% surcharge for a debit card purchase....!!!! Not even Amex charge that. We won't display our pricing (menu aside), but will display that you are going to be charged a surcharge for a price you don't even know your being charged.

Resident DJ gone.

Don't even get a knife with a fork, a change and removal of entree plate.

Couldn't even swing the obligatory cat in there prior to change of ownership on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Now......dead.

Your books must be tanking. 'If it ain't broken....don't fix it. Mars and Duncan were the heartbeat and soul of that place. Made everyone feel extremely welcome. Since their 'departure', myself and partner along with close freinds use to visit 2 to 3 times a week. We no longer do. I'm voicing what is commonly thrown around our circle of friends. Now.....once every 6 months as a 'check in' to see if things have changed. Only change is it is even quieter.

$17 for a glass of wine. $12 for not even a pint of beer....!!!

Sit in the dining room and look up....! There's only one in there to maintain. What does the condition of the 'black in colour' from factory fan suggest? Tells a story.

Guys, take this as commercial and constructive criticism. I'd be heartbroken buying a business on the basis on a certain turnover and only seeing a fraction of that.

Doesn't need to be that way. Check my profile......I'm not a serial reviewer and lucky to write a review once every two years and when do, feel obliged to do so.

It's hard to believe the photos showing the 3mm caking of dust above your diners was taken at peak period Sunday night. (Insert crickets chirping).

Fix it, or suggest King Somme will soon be part of Bayswater history. It's not me telling you this, it', i'd suggest is your weekly turnover...

"a concise cocktail list, plus the space will host regular wine education"

It's a shame they didn't educate their staff - a cocktail named "a little fizz", and the barman poured some cheap Australian bubbles into a glass, seeming to believe his selection was excellent.

The confusion didn't start at the point. Which entrance? Bar, wine bar, or pizza? Then, at the bar, with no welcoming staff, we were left to guess. Chalked menus of pizza, starters, beer, cocktails and wine dotted around. An accurate menu would have welcomed. A vague pointing towards the chalked board for wine was all I was shown when asking what I could have as a drink.. but you just made someone else a cocktail?! Cocktails are on a different board. Bit late now, thanks. Then "a little fizz" issue. Presume the barman couldn't remember the six cocktails they were serving, and thought asking for a little fizz was normal in leafy suburbs for anything with bubbles he could reach easily.

Food is take away pizza from next door, very little choice on the menu available. The prices of which didn't match the chalkboards, and, sorry, Jane Dough, but the pizza was not well thought out, and lacked something which an Italian pizza always has, flavour. Think rushed homemade on a school night & you'd be close.

Service, food and drinks matched the confused and shabby venue.

I wanted to like to this venture, it's great for the locals to have an alternative to the tawdry pub across the tracks. It just needs some love & passion added, and I don't see that coming from the...

We were lucky enough to have our wedding at King Somm this July and Cat the manager was a DREAM to work with. The space is intimate and moody and ticked all of our wedding dream boxes for a small ceremony and pizza party reception.

Email communication was a breeze with Cat, as was exploring the venue and figuring out how we could make our special day work in the gorgeous space.

Cat and the team went above and beyond to ensure our space was set up, our guests felt at home and our cocktails were on point for our photos! They made adjustments to cater for crazy weather and a delayed ceremony and made sure we didn't need to worry about a thing.

We absolutely recommend King Somm for your event. The pizza party was sensational, the cocktails tasted as good as they looked, the service was spectacular and the whole process was so easy, thanks to Cat and her team.

We can't wait to come...

Came here one evening for dinner. The pizza was okay, the pork with caramelised oinion was definitely the winner as it tasted great. Salami pizza was average and the entree was just burnt and salty. Regardless of the food and over looking all that, the customer service that night really was disappointing. The staff we dealt with that night were rude from their responses to forgetting our dishes. We really were looking forward to trying this place out and drove quite a distance but unfortunately it didn't deliver. Maybe they were having an off night.. oh well.

I took my husband out for an early afternoon Father’s Day dinner and we had such a lovely evening. We were seated in the cosy low couch area, which was a great spot for us as we had our 7 yr old and a pram with us. The venue felt warm and welcoming, I love what the new owners have done. The food and cocktails were absolutely spot on. The base on Parma Lot pizza was next level. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxed, chilled vibe with fantastic food and drink options.
