Delicious cakes, smooth coffee, and a lovely atmosphere. The cafe has had a facelift, too, and feels fresh and new. The selection of cakes was so unexpectedly diverse and interesting, all sourced from local bakers. The apricot and coconut cake was moist and tasty, and went down perfectly with the coffee, which had no nasty aftertaste or bitter tone. It had a lovely flavor, smell, and tasted wonderful. The prices are a touch steep but since they are located in a garden center, I feel it is justified. But the food and atmosphere was nice enough that I feel like I could just drop by for coffee and cake, no plant shopping required. That’s just a bonus!

To be honest...... I had seen a few comments some time ago about the not so good experiences here, so was not expecting to much. Wow...... you must have really cleaned up your act..... firstly Maddison was so attentive to getting our order right, and although was slammed busy..... still went and checked in the kitchen that there were more desert if the Lemon Meringue Pie on display sold out. She then read the order back to us to make sure it was right before we paid. And then the food arrived and it looked fantastic and believe me it tasted fantastic.... 5* all round. Well done Maddison and Waldecks, we will be back again very soon.

Had breakfast with my adult kids before plant shopping at Waldecks. 2 had eggs benedict one with ham one had bacon which they said was fine with eggs poached nicely. One had smashed avocado with haloumi etc which he enjoyed and I had the big breakfast which was fine but I wish they would have half sized serves. Special shout out to whoever cooked the tomato as often it comes out hard and hardly cooked and the hash brown was nice. Tables were roomy and not too cramped together which we appreciated as we had a pram with us. It was quite busy on a Saturday morning but we didn't have too long a wait.

When I arrived a man was ahead of me in the queue, he walked away and I approached the counter. The woman gruffly said “I can’t serve you, I’m serving him” and pointed at the man who had wandered off and seemed to be standing in the corner sending an sms.

He came back and ordered his food. I ordered a coffee and grabbed a menu for when my friend arrived and the same woman snapped “where are you sitting?” I pointed at one of two empty tables and she demanded “what number is it?” I told her I’d just arrived and didn’t know, so she told me to go and look and come back and tell her (which I did). the whole time I’d been in the cafe there were four coffees on the bench getting cold not being served to people. She said to the rest of the staff, “can someone go and deliver those coffees, thanks”. No one acknowledged she spoke. She charged me for my coffees and then told me it would be a 15 minute wait. Fine.

My friend arrived, she ordered a cup of tea and a scone with jam and cream.

I ordered the brisket open sandwich with pickles, pickled onions and poached egg. When it was delivered to our table it was swimming in a tomato and onion sauce. It was nothing like I expected. The staff member clearly saw the disappointment on my face and explained it was an open sandwich. I said that i knew it would be open, I just wasn’t expecting tomato sauce. She said I could swap it. I didn’t want to be annoying but I said I’d try it first. It was gross. The bread was soggy. With the pickled onions and pickles and tomato sauce it was acid, on acid, on acid, with no relief. I asked her to swap it for eggs Benedict with ham and paid the difference.

The eggs Benedict came out with the thinnest toast I’ve ever seen, sitting on a pool of that EXACT SAME TOMATO SAUCE. Unacceptable. That was definitely the kitchen screwing with me for sending food back, and one of my poached eggs had a hard yolk. I did not complain for fear they’d spit in the next thing.

The coffee was delicious.

All in all the very worst breakfast experience I’ve ever had in Perth.

Lovely environment though, fantastic garden centre. ...

Met for coffee with my mother's group yesterday and was really disappointed with the customer service I received while trying to order. My breastfed baby has a dairy allergy so I am unable to consume any dairy to prevent her having a severe reaction. When ordering I asked the cashier if the chai mix contained any dairy and the women rolled her eyes and walked away to check the package, she returned shortly after and said it doesn't state dairy free so I declined and ordered a coffee instead. I then tried to order Eggs Benedict and again checked with her if it contained any dairy and she gave me a sour look and walked into the kitchen to check with the cook. She returned again shortly after and said it has butter so I again declined and she proceeded to tell me in a rude tone that if I had an intolerance all I could order were coconut pancakes or dairy free banana bread as everything else contains butter or milk. I was made to feel like an inconvenience for my questions, so I quickly accepted the banana bread, paid and went back to my table. When my coffee did arrive it was a small serving and I was never offered a larger size and I didn't realise there was an option for a larger coffee. If told I would have gone with a larger size. My dairy free banana bread also came with a side of real butter which was very inappropriate. If any spread was offered it should have been dairy free. After accidentally being served dairy in the past and subsequently my infant suffering for days I am very cautious when eating out and after this experience I won't rush back to this premises as it's hard enough eating out with an allergy let alone being made to feel like an inconvenience even though I was polite with all of my questions. It's a real shame because the venue is lovely and the playground makes it a great place to meet with children. If the service staff don't want to be questioned then make the allergen information available on your menu so people can decide what items are suitable for their dietary...

The staff at Lakeview are always amazing, exceptionally friendly, and consistently go out of their way to assist us, especially when we bring our elderly grandmother who requires a bit of extra care for her comfort. Their attentiveness and kindness make every visit special.

We absolutely love the food and coffee at Lakeview. Both are always fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The quality never disappoints, and our orders arrive quickly, ensuring we never have to wait long to enjoy our meal.

One of the highlights for our family is the fantastic playground, which provides endless entertainment for the kids. It’s a perfect spot for them to play and burn off energy while we relax and enjoy our time together.

Thank you, Lakeview, for your outstanding service and for creating such a welcoming environment. We've been loyal customers for years and plan to continue coming back for many more. Your dedication to providing an excellent experience does not go unnoticed, and we sincerely appreciate all...
