Highly recommend this for your cheeky fish and chips binge. There are a few fish and chip places in the area so we simply tried our luck here and so glad we did! The place is very clean inside, they aren't keeping food warm, they make it fresh! So it looks bare inside but that's a good thing. The fish was perfectly battered and had crisp BUT seriously not oily! They clearly have perfected the deep fry - we were so impressed now not greasy but well cooked everything was. The paper used for wrapping wasn't oily post eating. Definately try the breadcrumb calamari, we think this is a custom recipe as it certainly had a great texture and crunch and very spot on flavours. Such an understated place, we didn't even have that 'post fried food feeling' which suggests that the oil was good quality and clean plus cooked at the right temperature. Hope everyone else has a good experience here - it was such a good friday night surprise to find this local gem. We ordered 2 pieces of hake (one grilled) chip for 2 (serving was plenty and I can eat) bread crumb calamari and a crab stick. Price was cheap/equal to other, took 15 mins at 6pm...

I wasn’t going to leave a review but I feel that I should in this instance. Our regular Fish n Chip Shop was closed so I googled for another close by and your business came up. Took a leap of faith and ordered for 5 people. As soon as I opened the box I knew we made a mistake. The batter on the fish was very pale and soggy. My goodness, even a stint in the air fryer did not help. There was no fixing this, the batter is terrible and obviously not having the oil at the correct temperature doesn’t help. Disappointed to say the least. Made a phone ordered last Good Friday to pick up at 6.30. When I arrived for my order they hadn't even started to cook my food. They didn't rush my order and I waited around for 1 hr. But the fish and chips were very good. I did the same today "Good Friday 22' ". This time my order was ready on arrival, but the food was cold, the fish was so tough my cat couldn't even chew threw it and it was expensive. Last Good Friday people were lined up outside the door. Today there was a handful of people. Has this store changed hands?
