New Years 2022 in The Vines was nothing but a dissapoitment for our family of 4. It was our first time at the Vines venue and we won't be returning!!! Just Giving it a 1star because it won't let me post!
The event was 2.5h long but the wait I the queue was 30min - only one person at the check in point.
I don't mind paying $50 for an adult and $35 for a 5-12yo if the food is nice and there is a fruit or some kind of dessert and as I was told when booking soft drinks included- unfortunately non of that happened there wasn't even soft drink for kids or adults included.
I called the Vines on the day of the event before we went there double checking dietary requirements and if soft drinks are included in price and I was told YES THEY ARE but when we got there we were told we need to pay for everything separately.
In quick points what you get for $50adult and $35 for 5-12yo price: -Entry -Rice and curry -Green Salad -Nice view
There wasn't drinks or desserts NOT even for kids. You needed to pay $4.50 for soft drink and $5 for an ice cream on top of your $50 or $35.
My son can't have dairy and there was a slushy machine in the background of the Bar that my husband wanted to buy for him but the bartender lady said "NO! BECAUSE IF I GIVE TO ONE THEN ALL THE KIDS WILL WANT ONE" - it's a New Year celebration let them have one anyway - so my 8yo son who I payed for $35 had curry with rice for dinner and a juice that I payed for on top of it because nothing else was available.
At 8.29 the DJ called all of the kids to the dance floor for the count down and this was the worst experience eveeeeer! He pretty much counted down from 10-1 shut down his DJ station and was just standing there waiting for everyone to leave. We all were expecting a last song or some kind of celebration music at the end but it was all shut down including the disco lights.
Kids and adults were standing in the middle of the dance floor looking at each other in confusion- very unpleasant to experience.
Then we all had to pack up and leave the venue with a very sour after-taste.
It was a superhero dress up party and the best dressed was meant to win a prize. Nothing was announced and no one got a prize.
What a rip...
Read moreA friend and myself attended this cafe/bar recently. What an eye opener. Lets start with the outrageous price they charge for drinks. A pint of ginger ale and a pint of coke $20. Most expensive drinks I have had.
We ordered our food when ordering the first drinks. Two fish and chips. After waiting for what seemed forever I went up and asked what had happened to our order. I said it seemed like it was close to an hour since we ordered. The staff member said it was 20 mins as she had taken our order when she came on shift. When returning to the table and checking the app as we paid by card it was 45 mins. Nothing like the customer is always right type attitude.
The food eventually arrives. The fish was nice but the chips were soggy and the worst chips I have ever had served. They looked like they were cut from a potatoe and left in water for hours. The salad served with it was a couple of scraps of lettuce with a couple of bits of tomato. For $32 a meal which is the most expensive fish and chips I have had from a restauaunt, it was well below acceptable standard.
In trying to ring the Vines Resort to speak to someone prior to writing this review was a complete waste of time. Four phone calls pressing the different buttons to try to get someone resulted in a half hour wasted as no department answered their phone.
I would not recommend this restaurant to others. It is completely overpriced and the food is only just acceptable. The lack of available people and the disinterest of staff should tell...
Read moreWhat an absolute disgrace to the suburb. I have lived in the vines for my whole life. I havenât been the vines restaurant cafe in a few years.
I boasted to my wife and kids how good the vines food was when I used to go.. boy was I wrong.
I was realynblown away with the prices! So so so much more expensive than all the other places in Aveley and Ellenbrook, I said to my wife âlook itâs obviously great food if they are asking this sort of moneyâ
Shocking bacon burger (diced fat) as they called it âchutneyâ! $32 for a flat burger with 1 piece of lettuce and a stale bun. The burger at the brook is mind blowing!
$11 for 2 pieces of garlic bread! Seriously?
$50 for a simple steak!
I asked for the house sparkling for the wife and they advised they only have small bottles which were $18!
To say the least Iâm embarrassed to be the one who suggested to take my family my to the vines.
I stood up and said I to my wife I was going to take the food back and my she stopped me and said âdonât worry the kids are hungry they will just eat it, we just wonât get come backâ.
We also saw 2 other tables that were not overly impressed with the food. They were laughing and disgusted with there $16 kids meals.
If youâre going to charge the price then make good food we donât mind! Just make good for that match the price!
Iâm sitting here at home and Iâm so sad. What has happend to the vines resort?
Please please hire someone to sort it...
