If I could give zero stars, I would, but I guess one star will have to do. Let’s start with the poached eggs on my beef bulgogi. These were less “poached” and more “incinerated.” The yolk was as solid as my disappointment. My partner’s Turkish eggs didn’t fare much better—poached to the culinary equivalent of a well-done steak. The food sat under a heat lamp for at least 5 minutes, and we endured a 30-minute wait for food that made us wish we hadn’t bothered. The hollandaise? A leathery, rubbery crime against eggs with a skin so thick it could star in a cowboy movie. The brisket? Chewing through it felt like a workout my jaw didn’t sign up for. When I showed the staff the disaster they called eggs, they graciously offered to take the price of two eggs off the bill. That’s right—two eggs. I still paid $64 for two disappointing dishes and an apple juice. An actual robbery would have felt more dignified. The bathroom situation? Mould, dirt, and a general sense of regret awaited me. It felt like a flashback to Metro City’s bathrooms after a packed gig, and I’ve seen some things there I don’t want to talk about. The service? Imagine Donald Trump greeting Mexico—that’s the level of warmth we received. “Do you have a reservation?” was the cold welcome, followed by a dirty table that screamed, “We don’t care.” We flagged someone down to take our order, were never checked on, and frankly, after this experience, I wouldn’t have had the energy to send food back. The entire experience was as organised as 4-year-olds playing pretend restaurant at kindy, but at least kindy kids are cute.

We wanted a casual lunch with views of the coast on a 32c degree day in sunny Perth. Hamptons was a bit expensive and nothing on the menu grabbed us so we went to Voyage Kitchen. A lot more casual and suitable pricing. And we were able to have views of City Beach. The food and drinks menu was a bit limited. We often share so we ordered a cheese burger, Nachos and coffees. The service was prompt with drinks first then food shortly after. The cheese burger was fresh and tasty with fresh lettuce and semi ripe tomatoes. The chips were hot and quite good. We both rated this 3 stars. Nothing special really a nice beef patty on a bun. The nachos had plenty of meat although a bit dry, plenty of melted cheese and sour cream. Jalapeños were dotted over the top with a sliced pickled onion which is a bit different. No guacamole which is usually customary to have with Nachos. The mince had cooked diced carrot and lacked flavour. Not up to any standard we thought giving it a 2 star. Coffees were good as were the chips, the views of City Beach is nice. We probably won’t return unless the lunch menu and products improve.

After waiting almost half an hour for two breakfast dishes, one being eggs on toast and the other was my “acia bowl” …which left my confused more than anything. The acia bowl which states on the menu takes “15 minutes of preparation” - you could imagine had my expectations relatively high. I was finally brought a giant bowl of the most over the top serving size of frozen acia with strawberries and cantaloupe thrown on top… The dish was missing; coconut flakes, chia seeds and goji berries (I ordered without granola) I wish I had a photo of the dish to show the carelessness. The staff also could not answer my questions as to whether they had the ingredients for the dish or if it was just a mistake. Really disappointing way to end my trip to Perth.

We’re so glad we stumbled across this gem! Just as we were about to leave (since the kitchen was closing) a lovely young staff member kindly let us know, as we walked out, the manager gave the all clear to quickly grab a meal. 🥹 It was such a warm, thoughtful gesture that already set the tone.

The whole experience felt luxurious without the price tag. Soft piano music played in the background, adding to the calm, cosy atmosphere. The seating was super comfortable, the space was beautifully designed, and there’s even a stunning beach view. peaceful, quiet. but not empty, you can actually relax and enjoy.

Now… let me talk about the butter chicken. I’ve tried a lot in my time, but this was on a whole other level. It was hands down the most flavourful, melt in your mouth best butter chicken I’ve ever had!!! The chicken was so tender it practically fell apart with a spoon, perfectly cooked, no dryness, juicy and rich with flavour. The sauce was silky, spiced just right, and unbelievably delicious. I was genuinely blown away.

It was so good I had to ask the young girl to thank the chef personally. That’s how incredible it was.👏👏

Food came quickly, the service was impeccable, and the whole vibe was just warm, calm, and inviting. Honestly, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. 10/10 fine dining quality, relaxed beach energy, and...

First time visit for me, though have been to the venues next door. Great spot by the beach with a good view of the ocean. Good menu selection with lots of dishes to tempt us, and it when it did arrive it was tasty though consensus in our group was that the portion sizes were small.

Service, however, was appalling. It felt like we had come to Service Training school on day two.

Most of the front of house staff seemed to be sullen teenagers who would rather be somewhere else than serving customers, and, for us as well as a number of tables close by, seemed to be always somewhere else rather than attending to tables.

Drinks were ordered and appeared fairly quickly, but no-one seemed interested in taking away empties, which of course is an ideal opportunity to ask if we want another.

Later, perhaps a hint we needed to leave, they started taking water glasses away even though liquid was still in there ! No issue with getting a hint but at least ASK or say "we're closing soon can I take this away")

Since dining there I now understand this venue has recently changed hands which may explain the inexperience of the staff. There really did only seem to be one or perhaps two senior experienced staff members in front of house.

I'll give them a few months before revisiting as it really is a good spot. I look forward to trying the breakfast menu next...
