Moving. It's one of life's most stressful activities. It's physically demanding, mentally overwhelming and emotionally draining. You leave behind friends, family and familiarity, especially moving interstate to your new home. But that's the beauty of this little pub. It feels exactly like home. The atmosphere, the people, the food, all of it. A manic week was brought to a close on arrival in Adelaide and sitting down to dinner here, for that brief time made one feel like they'd been here many times before, were somewhere they knew people and just swept away that feeling of lonliness. It's the sort of place you come not just to eat or have a bevvie, though you definitely could, it's a place where you come to feel like you belong, that you're amongst friends and you're home. And that doesn't even begin to cover the quality of the meals, which were exceptional in every way. Reasonable prices, excellent serving sizes and expedient service were all ticks in the boxes. I've eaten at more country town (and city) pubs than I care to admit but this is truly one of the best so far and I am most assuredly going back. Thank you, OBT for making my first night in my new home a positive and delicious one. No photos, I'm afraid, I was far too busy...
Read moreWent for family birthday celebrations with table of 14. We were absolutely shook but the customer service, it was beyond rude! They were rude when being asked about food for medical reasons and argumentative instead of apolagising for mistakes. The food was good but was completely over shadowed by the attitude of our server who had no interest what so ever in being plesant, or making sure we got what we ordered. This would be an extremely long review if i listed what happened over one dinner so ill just say that its extreemly disappointing when locals go and support a local business only to be treated in such a way. I cant recall ever having customer service as bad as that which is quite sad especiallyas the food was good. Deffinatly would not return as it definitely tainted our...
Read moreA hidden gem. We have been through Williamstown a few times and we noticed the Bakehouse tavern had opened, so we decided to try it out as we often are looking for good and new places to try. We have been there twice now, once as a couple and the other, we took friends. What ever you choose from the menu it is fresh and delicious and they change the menu regularly. They have a reasonable selection of wine’s and the service is really good. The only thing they have forgotten both times is the water for the table, when asked, so we had to go to the bar requesting. Very minor issue, but otherwise food and drinks come efficiently. Do try otherwise if they do a foodie review of this place, you will not be able to get in, that’s how good...
