Ambrosia Eatery — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

Moved from Wollongong to Tasmania recently and I hope the fact that I still feel compelled to write this review speaks to how good this place is.

I have been eating Burek for years but this place just seems to get everything right. Much less messy than other Burek as it’s cooked nice and neat, has great flavour range and you can just tell that they pick their ingredients with a great deal of care.

While I miss many things about the Illawarra (the beaches, the people, the scenery) I cannot think of anything I miss more than the pepperoni and cheese Burek (which you absolutely have to get with garlic salt).

You will not regret going here at all.

I have nearly tried every burek shop in the Illawarra but Ambrosia Eatery is by far the BEST👌 The way they do their pastry makes it so light and fluffy and the minced meat...OMG the flavour of their minced meat is to die for🤤😋 I have never tasted anything like it. It is their signature recipe and add on the fact that the owners are absolutely beautiful people who are so friendly, it is what makes them the best burek shop in the Illawarra. If you haven't visited these guys yet, I highly recommend that you head down there and grab one of their bureks because I can guarantee you that you'll never go anywhere else for burek ever again. Wow. This Burek was amazing. One of the best I've had. Came across this place from a friend's recommendation. The store doesnt look like much and you could miss it as the service station, but dont let that stop you from going in. The owner is a gentleman and makes some delicious baked goods.
