Not going to lie… I usually go to fish and chips down the road on the lake… but this is pretty damn good. Just good old fashion basic takeaway with a unique vibe that’s well priced but not wrecked in oil. I thought it was just luck the first time but went there again and it was just as good. I got fish and chips and it was awesome.

Was treated rudely and I couldn’t understand why. Very unhygienic, especially during this COVID time. Before I was served, guy behind the counter had served other people, handled money (cash), touched other surfaces, was using a pen that had touched the floor.. and served other people. He did not wash his hands or sanitise and then touched the raw food in the display counter with his bare hands.. didn’t use any gloves. ( I understand bacteria is killed once cooked but this is no excuse) Order was messed up as well, asked for salt, didn’t get any, asked for 2 pieces of fish, only got one and I paid for two. Galley was perfectly happy enforcing the no mask no service regulation, but wasn’t practicing good hygiene. Overall food wasn’t very nice, only good thing...

Came to the rescue on a public Holliday with the most classic old school bacon and egg roll I’ve had in years. None of the ridiculous brioche or milk bun bull, and don’t even get me started on aioli and caramelised onion relish, which is almost impossible to avoid these days. Finally just bacon, egg, and tomato sauce (of course), all I’m after.

Pricing is absolutely fair and potentially unchanged in some time.

In this day and age a small chips is usually served in a cup or tiny basket designed to reduce portion size but this is NOT the case at the Galley. Finally $4 for small chips gets you what it used to. Nicely chicken salted but ask for extra if you’re an CS addict.

The owners are very nice people in what seems like an honest...

My father comes here occasionally to get fish and chips and calamari and sometimes burgers (which are the size of your face) and spring rolls (which are really good), I went here today and got large chips for $8 and it was enough to feed a whole fxcking family. I used to get chips from the eatery at the beach but their chips go for $9 and the box has like a 6th of the amount. It was so good it even attracted the great pacific gulls (2 chicks came).

Minimum EFTPOS is $10 and the minimum spending is $5 but because they knew me I could get a $3 springroll...
