Ariel's Figtree — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

This place is soooo hit and miss depending on the staff of the day which is such a shame. The 2 guys sometimes there during weekdays are fabulous and when they're on the food is beautiful and so is the service. But unfortunately like today (and on many other occasions) 04.07.20 it can be absolutely awful. Snooty, snappy blonde behind the counter really needs to look up the word "hospitality". The meals were dreadful ($60 for 2 meals and 2 drinks); fries were served when meal was nearly complete and only then because for the 3rd time I asked for them. Table was dirty; service unpleasant, slow and unfriendly. Just awful, as my son pointed out she practically threw one of the plates down. She seemed very put out to have to clear the previous patrons' dirty plates; and the table was never even wiped down - which is a major negative at any time not just during Covid-19. It's not rocket science love - just clean the tables and serve the items which have been ordered at the same time. You let the whole establishment down big time; as did whoever was in the kitchen...

I went for breakfast this morning. To start with we waited almost 40 minutes for our breakfast we ordered 2 big breakfasts. When they came out mine only had 1 egg not 2...so i went and told the staff. Then we relised that both meals were missing the sausages and the spinach. We went and spoke to the manager...who was extremely rude. My partner asked for a refund as this whole debarcle by now was nearly as hour.. he begrudgingly gave us a refund. I asked if we were going to get the rest of our meals and they said no...the manager didnt even come out and speak to us, he sent the young waitress.What we did get was cold, burnt and absolute rubbish to eat. Today is my husband’s birthday and since morning I was thinking what I can do for him until we end up in Ariel’s Figtree grove and just thinking to have coffee and gives me an idea of buying him a cinnamon but took a chance of asking Peter ( waiter) if any chance they have a candle and lucky enough they have cause Peter made an effort to look for a candle not just 1 but 2 candles and made sure that my husband doesnt just have plain cinnamon but he also put decorative cream around it and strawberry. We were so impress if the effort and service. We love it. Keep it up. We commend Peter and make sure to keep him because he...
