Guzman y Gomez Warrawong — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

It pains me to write this review as I’ve been an avid Guzman’s buyer for years and normally love the food I receive. I came through the drive-thru at Warrawong around 9pm and immediately received poor service, as the worker who took my order sounded rude and uninterested in talking to me. I stated I had an online order and was told to drive around. As usual, I didn’t take offence at the poor customer service skills that were provided. I ordered extra ingredients on my burrito, only to receive basically just rice and a minuscule amount of the other ingredients I had paid extra for. I was halfway through my burrito when I pulled out multiple coarse black hairs. I would argue and say they were mine, but my boyfriend and I are both blonde. I also called four times, and on all four occasions I received an AI-generated response stating, “This service is unavailable.” I wouldn’t normally write poor reviews, but as management refused to answer my multiple calls, I will not be returning to this establishment. Honestly I was expecting a generic fast food and was very pleasantly surprised.

My first wow moment was when the hand basin and soap was outside of the toilet rather than in it meaning that you can go to the bathroom and not have to touch dirty handles after you washed your hands.

The environment was nice, the restaurant and amenities were very clean, the staff were singing and laughing while making food efficiently and deliciously.

Seriously, I was very impressed with the people working here, food was amazing and quick and the Lass at the counter even apologised for the wait of maybe 8 minutes for my decently sized order. And they had ginger beer as an optional drink, so hell yeah.

I would most definitely eat here again, it is somewhat more expensive than other takeaways however the quality and taste is well worth it.

If I had this food at a Mexican restaurant like Amigos I would be...

Don't go here. Have eaten at other Guzmans plenty and this is the only time I've walked away regretting our meal.

I ordered a Cali burrito, they asked at the window when ordering do you want a mini. Said no, I want a regular and the burrito was tiny. They have clearly made a mini and charged us for a regular.

Then we ordered a vegetable burrito bowl without rice. Have done this plenty of times and the bowl is still full. The pic shows a bowl with a few chips and literally 3 mouthfuls of veggies, for nearly 20 bucks.

Then, to top it off, there was no receipt so we couldn't cross check the order.
