If only there was a minus star...after looking for an email on the website to advise on the poor service received today this was the only way of making a comment...well there's a first time for everything...my oh my ..read some of these reviews...the reply from Suzie the owner is absolutely gob-smacking!! We embarked on a rare occasions to take my sister and brother in law out for brunch. The rostis are always a hit but unfortunately not always in stock but alas this morning they were. So very excitedly we ordered x3 meals with rostis....i took the baby so my sister could enjoy a breakfast only to return to see her napkin covering half of the meal..I asked what was wrong. There was a single red hair embedded in her rosti. I subtly asked the waitress to come over and said their is a hair in my sister plate..she removed it from the table. I still had my meal to eat so after pulling it apart (just in case) even though a little put off I ate my meal. We left not long after and I went to pay, the girl charged us for all three meals. I told her there was hair in one of the meals, she went into the kitchen and came back and said "you can have 1 meal at half price" .The waitress stuck her head out of the kitchen and said "sorry, have a nice day".I was shocked, unfortunately paid and left. For the sake of $10 a reputation has gone down the drain. If 3/4 of the meal had been eaten would i have been charge 3/4's of the price? You hosted a wedding last night and would make a nice little profit but for the sake of 10 bucks have lost at least x3 customers. It is so bizarre to me that if something like this happens a charge applies. Suzie i expect a rude and unprofessional reply, or none at all. I believe you have a percentage of very happy customers but for those that don't have a good experience, you can turn an unpleasant experience to a reasonable outcome. I truly hope you change your response technique and although this is your livelihood don't take it personally its business. All the best won't...
Read moreReally terrible experience this morning. Trying to get acknowledgment that we were actually there this was the first challenge, eventually told we could sit at a choice of 2 tables, it took 10 minutes before a waitress came to take our order, no water brought to the table even though every other table got brought water straight away.
We were in between breakfast and lunch service so the only option was scones. We heard the ‘maitre d’ say to numerous arrivals the kitchen is in between services and they would have to wait 30 mins for lunch menu - it’s a Sunday, how can a kitchen not be prepared, maybe a brunch menu would suit better?? Just strange…
Menus are old and dirty and look like they haven’t been updated in 10 years, scones took 15 minutes, when they came they hadn’t been heated properly and were hard, EB tea came out as a pot of hot water with a tea bag (no leaves) on the side, why wasn’t it in the pot brewing?! Latte then took another 5 minutes to come, 20 minutes after the initial order and I’d nearly finished the dry scone, the coffee was also very average.
Trying to pay we went to the counter and had a solid 4 minute wait once we’d rang the bell to get attention before anyone came - there was a semi-aggressive sign saying ‘due to the extreme transaction fee’s we only accept a maximum of 2 split payments per table’. I had also witnessed other patrons experiencing a delay in trying to get someone to attend the counter so they could pay.
It’s a pity because it’s a beautiful setting but very poor service and food/beverage options, needs a bit...
Read moreI had high expectations coming here. First glance, there were garden tools left at the entrance to the CAFE. Our reserved table was at the back of the cafe next to the sliding door to the toilets, so we spent our time there cold and constantly closing the door, plus it just wasn't pleasant being near the toilets. I didn't receive a fork and when we advised the waitress of this (we didn't have the same waitress, there seemed to be 3 in attendance), she didn't smile, my partner said she in fact had a very sour look on her face. Then we discovered that the knife in the cutlery rack was actually dirty, the waitress I gave that to did however apologise. Our meals seemed rushed, the Bruschetta had large chunks of red onion which indicated time wasn't taken to cut it evenly. The bread was not nice. My partner's meal of 'pie' was in fact a square puff of pastry just placed on a small bowl and he said the meat was hot in parts and cold in others, which meant it had been microwaved. We just didn't feel the love which was a shame as the location...
