Unique Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Woodvale

If there were a 10 ⭐️ rating, we would choose that!! Overall, Larry’s Unique Thai is ‘without a doubt, exactly that!’ We have been coming here over the past several years, previously residing in Woodvale & even now having moved further north, the travel distance isn’t a factor.

The dishes, referring to pretty much everything we’ve ever tried on the menu, is second to none!! Taste sensation with the consistency in always being freshly cooked & full of authentic flavour.

Our top choices as a family are several serves of both their amazing satay chicken sticks & spring rolls. Usually followed by yellow chicken, massaman curry & chilli coriander/basil prawns. The rice portions are always presented fresh & usually more than enough for 4 adults.

Larry & his son’s/family have built this wonderfully UNIQUE restaurant in a great location, to make it your number one preference when it comes to Thai Cuisine 🇹🇭 we simply wouldn’t go anywhere else as they make not only us, but it seems every customer that dines in, feel like we’re all part of one big family. I honestly couldn’t recall the last time ever dining out at a restaurant where the owner whips up all the dishes then presents himself neat & tidy, always full of life & smiles on his dials, he even cheers up to a well earned glass of vino at conclusion of the evening.

Larry being the owner/chef is proud to meet & greet all his happy customers, proving not only confidence in his food, yet eagerness for us to return again soon. Furthermore, they call us by name which makes us feel so very welcome each & every time.

Last but not least, we’ve recommended this restaurant to family/friends & everyone agrees without a shadow of doubt that it offers the best service at affordable prices complimented by a wonderful atmosphere!

Absolutely appalled by the service received here. An unfortunate experience receiving a takeaway order and two of the containers were not sealed properly and ended up leaking through onto my passengers clothes, legs and in my car. I understand these things do happen by accident. We kindly called the restaurant back and the lovely gent working the front of house was apologetic, offered a refund and to remake the order free of charge. We went back to the restaurant to collect the order and the same lovely gent was very apologetic and gave us lovely service until the Owner Larry came out guns blazing asking for his food back. However, this was not communicated to us on the phone nor did we know how to transport spilled food in a split open singular paper bag that was provided?? And laughed when we communicated that we were told that we would receive a refund also. Larry’s behaviour was disgusting and extremely condescending, and I truly believe that his actions would have been different if we were middle aged or older. He told us what his policies were although we were told something completely different over the phone. However, unsure why we as the customers were being disciplined as we are not employed or apart of the staffing team there.. That conversation needed to be redirected back to his team so further miscommunication issues do not occur. Larry’s outcome dishonoured what we were told on the phone by the younger gent (who would have been much more pleasant to have dealt with). Never returning back after this...

My friends & I went for dinner to Unique Thai on 24th April. We have been here before & once again we were immensely delighted with the quality & quantity of the various Thai dishes we ordered.

Between us we had satay chicken & curry puffs for starters followed by the main courses - pad Thai, honey chicken, massaman beef & garlic lamb as well as perfectly cooked, steamed rice.

Every dish from starters to main courses was sumptuous & delicious. The honey chicken was little clouds of pure pleasure. Yum 😋

The owner is Larry who not only prepares the food on most days, but he makes an effort to greet his patrons & remarkably remembers our names & names of our family members & friends too!

My husband & I have been to Larry’s (as we like to affectionately call Unique Thai) a number of times with our family & friends.

We are always greeted like old friends & not once have we left disappointed.

As for the staff, they are all always polite, helpful & efficient. Thank you Larry and family for providing top service & top quality, delicious...
