Woopi Takeaway — Restaurant in Woolgoolga

Ok food, old oil for the chips which is a running theme it seems and not enough sauce on the burgers. Service is horrendous. Multitasking is an essential skill in hospitality but it doesn't exist in this shop. Twice Ive been here and each time were different workers but no one seems to be able to cook more than one order at a time. First time we went here the workers would waste time just staring at the orders wondering where to start and it took an hour to serve 6 people. People would order simple things such as a few potato scallops but would be told it would be an hour wait, just throw it in an cook it for goodness sake. Today the two young people doing better than the two older ladies from last time. But the girl still wasting time talking to her friend not doing a damn thing, then wasting time changing songs on her phone. I also note, no hand washing and wiping her hands on the back of her pants then use her hands with long nails to place fresh salad items on the burger. Not a good look for front of house cooking. Also, every order is going back and forth to the cool room, so much wasted time. You have an incredible opportunity to have a booming business but you need to overhaul your service and time management because people will not come back at the rate you're serving now.

And no tables and chairs...

My friend and I had to place 2 orders. Friends ordered was taken and than I was left standing there for a good 5 minutes before order was taken. We waited 50mins for burnt fish and calamari the only thing that wasn’t burnt was the chips. My egg and bacon roll that was ordered was finished 10mins prior to the rest of my order and was left out sitting on bench and Not put in a hot bay. Witnessed hamburger Pattie’s getting flattened with hands instead of utensils and previous burgers getting made with no gloves and the amount of times I seen her scratch her head and than go back to touching food made me sick. All hands and no hand washing. Not to mention the guy that ordered just before us got overcharged and asked the girl nicely if she could fix it up which she did but so rude about it and than when he walked out she called him names.

Would have spoke to the shop about the issues if staff were more approachable but that...

Disgusting!!! Almost $60 for a hamburger with the lot, three potato cakes/scallops 2 pieces of cod and a small chips. When we got back to camp (2 min drive) the burger had leaked and fell apart, the potato cakes/scallops were swimming in oil and leaking out of the paper bag, the two pieces of cod were battered not crumb as requested and they were sitting in about 1-2mm of oil in a cardboard food box and the chips were cooked in old oil that left them soggy and full of oil. Save your money and go back to camp and eat beans on toast! It'll taste better and you'll save yourself $$$

UPDATE - 30th April 2025 Owner was true to their word and refunded our money and was most apologetic for the standard of food we received. We will try them again next time we come through Woopie and hopefully we will get the food we expect for what...
