Beachouse Cafe — Restaurant in Woolgoolga

We have been here 3 times. Nice coffee. Fantastic caramel slice. Nice service… usually. Today we took 2 other friends with us. We asked if we could sit at a table the waitress was lovely and said of course. 2 of us got up to order our coffees and another waitress staff person told us to move to another table and we can only stay 30 minutes! Omg. The cafe was busy, great to see but there’s no need for that from her. There wasn’t a reserved sign on the table and my husband did originally ask if we could sit there as only a couple of tables available and it was busy. We were coming in for coffee ( coffee is really nice there btw) and to have some lunch but just drank our coffee and left. Not the cafes fault but just a person who should not be dealing with the public. We weren’t rude not challenging in any way but very disappointed in that waitstaff’s attitude and manner. As I’m someone who has owned and operated bakeries and a hotel I understand staff can get a bit frustrated when it’s busy but they need to distance themselves from front of house when this type of attitude is displayed. Lovely serving staff otherwise. Lovely coffee but some staff member having a bad day makes a bad experience for the four of us...

We have previoisly had a not so good experience at this cafe but thought 2 years later , back on holiday, we would try again . However we just had another unpleasant experience . We ordered 2 coffees and 2 cakes. We were waiting a bit, probably more than normal, but the place was busy so we were understanding of that, however what we were not happy about is .....we saw the cakes we ordered left on the counter at least 10 minutes while iur coffee was being made . This was right next to the register where all the customers were cued talking and making payments directly over our cake, not very hygenic I felt. My wife decided to to go and pick up the cake herself, no problem as we did not want all cued customers breathing and spitting over our cake... . Thats when the waitress said "that's my job" in a very reprimanding manner, basically scolding my wife who felt very embarrassed in front of a crowd of customers. She and 2 other staff wanted to argue the point with us about taking the cakes. We asked for a refund which the gentleman staff member was happy to oblique, however we will not be returning to this business in the future. They need to improve on hospitality and...

Booked a table for a friend and myself to eat early lunch. My friend arrived before I did and was shown to the table. We both drove into Woopi from out of town on a very hot day expecting ( we visualised a jug of ice water on our way into town) bottle/jug of cold icey water. Sadly we were given a bottle of room temperature water, dissapointing. We waited 15 minutes and my friend tried to catch the waitresse's attention. Eventually she did, to be told we needed to go and order from the front reception ourselves. Would've been helpful to be told on arrival as we were both on a tight schedule. The food arrived and was delicious! We enjoyed our lunch and said the warm water ( by then it was) was a pity as we really enjoyed our meal. Thank you...
