When you frequent the mountains in Zillertal a lot(especially the Mayrhofen area, and further into the valleys past), you come to expect a lot, as the food are usually well prepared, the views are excellent, and the service is kind. I therefore was a tad disappointed, when I found the food to be plain. The wienerschnitzel was dry, and the fries was not very good, which is why my initial impression was to only give them 3 stars... After further reflection, I have reconsidered, as the view and surroundings are magnificent, and the waitress was kind... Another plus is the great play area for children, that should indeed be rewarded. So I have changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars, as we liked being there, and would visit it again. Great place for a lunch stop on the ski trip. Good food and great service with a nice view. I always visited right before noon to avoid longer waits or busier moments, so I can't comment on waiting times at peak moments. Given the location the prices aren't low but not inconsiderate. The location itself has a price and every single thing has to get up the mountain for your comfort so I don't blame them. The quality of service and food is well worth it. All I can say is definitely give this place a visit and try the Bauerngrostl, ideally when you haven't eaten much in the morning! Normally, I visited this restaurant several times in the past, I would like to visit it again, because of good food and friendly crew. Today, I went to the restaurant at 14:55, I made several photos at the terrace and I sit down in 15:02. The waitress told us in a bored mood. that the kitchen is closed, despite there were knives and porks on the tables and also the whole menu with all foods. Ouside of the restaurant were still tags with offer of traditional Tyrolean cuisine. I hope the will make their customer behavior better. The cocoa...
