Einkehr zur wüdn Goaß — Restaurant in Gemeinde Klosterneuburg

Very traditional Austrian restaurant with outside patio tables. Can be very busy at times and depending on serving staff available, waiting times can vary greatly. It must be said that they are doing a very good job in finding the balance between price/value relation. I never had a bad dish there. Of course you would want them to tell you that usually there are no potatoes or carbs (Belänge) included when ordering Schnitzel or fish, but that tends to become the norm now given the many allergies and intolerances, so that people tend to custom order their carbs separately. The interior and overhead lighting indoors is rather on the crass and old fashioned side and that is one of the few reasons I cannot give full marks. Ankunft im Gasthaue um 13:50. Der junge Kellner war sehr freundlich das Service seines älteren Kollegen, in weiterer Folge leider echt schlecht.

Wir waren zu zweit hier und eine der beiden Hauptspeisen kam 10 Minuten später als die Erste. Der zuvor servierte Wildschweinbraten war geschmacklich in Ordnung. Anstelle der Kartoffelknödel wurden Serviettenknödel kredenzt weil die Kartoffelknödel bereits aus waren. Das wurde zuvor nachgefragt, weswegen dies kein Problem war.

Nachdem die zweite Hauptspeise gebracht wurde kam der Kellner erneut und brachte einen leeren Salatteller den man sich danach selbst vom Salatbuffet holen kann während das Essen am Tisch bereits kalt wird. Ein wenig durchdachtes Konzept oder doch schlecht geschultes Personal.

Der gegrillte Zander war leider auch nicht besonders überwältigend. Der Salat war ok. Leider gab es nicht mehr alle Salate zur Auswahl.

We stopped by with our dog after cycling there from Vienna and had a wonderful meal with lots of friendly service and chats from other customers. The seasonal specialties were super delicious too. Asparagus soup, asparagus with hollandaise, strawberry bowl, and an orange rum slice. Well worth finding...
