Ristorante Cervo d'oro — Restaurant in Gemeinde Semmering

We were at the restaurant 3 times during our stay in Semmering, i could say overall the experience was not bad for a restaurant in Semmering. Two of the nights there was something wrong with the pizzas (first time the Pizza Fiorentina was very runny, when my father cut it it drew water right away, the waiter wanted to explain that they are using fresh ingredients as the reason butt we all know how a pizza should be so they changed it, was a little bit better afterwards, the second time they forgot to put capers on the Sicily pizza, they changed it again and both of the times they gave us a compliment which I found very good! The third time there was a very dirty fork on the table.. small issue. The water was overall nice, the owner was really friendly, but the guy at the bar, dunno if he,s the barkeeper there , he needs to change his attitude toward customers if this pizza place wants to succeed there. He was rude with us and because they just got one of the drinks wrong instead of bringing us big pitcher of water , they brought us a glass of water and the guy was very rude. Then we saw how he was talking to other people wanting a table without reservations, he was nice only to other Hungarian people and i find that very offensive(he is also from Hungary). I really liked the owner so just a small tip for you, when you were away the staff there was a little off(just acting different) i hope you have a good winter season just keep an eye of the barkeeper sending your customers away in a rude way! I recently visited a local restaurant and had a mixed experience with their menu offerings. The risotto with mushrooms was fairly good, offering a decent taste and texture. However, the pizza was just average, with the Diavola pizza notably lacking in spiciness, which was a disappointment. The biggest letdown was the spaghetti carbonara. It lacked flavor, missing key ingredients like pecorino cheese, and the bacon wasn't properly crisped.

What surprised us the most was the service aspect, especially regarding the tipping policy. Upon paying, we were informed that a 10% service charge had already been automatically added to our bill. This was not communicated to us beforehand, and it's important to note that tips should ideally reflect customer satisfaction, not be an assumed addition. If it's automatic, it would be more transparent to include it in the menu prices. Additionally, the overall service was somewhat lackluster, which further impacted our dining experience. Given these aspects, we're unlikely to revisit this...

Me and my husband had to wait 15 minutes to receive a menu. After we ordered two pizzas we have waited another 40 minutes till a pizza came, the second one was missing because the waiter told us that it fell out of the plate by mistake and we need to wait for another pizza to be made. Probably another 40 minutes. Supposedly we had to eat separately while waiting for each pizza to be ready. My husband refused to wait for another pizza so he didn't get to eat anymore.We didn't even received apologies. We spent an entire hour to be able to eat a louzy pizza and still my husband left without having lunch. Horrible service, the waiter seemed to not have a care in the world, the whole staff was: the waiter, a girl at the bar and a guy in the kitchen.
