Four of us came with a reservation in the evening during the week. It was busy, but there were still a few seats available as the restaurant is very large. We had two different spreads with sourdough bread as a starter, which was excellent. We sampled the in-house beers, with the ‘Das Altsteirische’ being my favourite. For starters, my companions had a pumpkin cream soup, which was good, and a lamb's lettuce salad garnished with fried bacon and eggs (excellent). For the main course we had a pulled pork burger which was ok, gnocchi with pumpkin cream and cress. A Styrian chicken salad and an onion roast with potatoes and bacon beans as a side dish. The roast onion was good. I prefer slightly thicker pieces of meat (can also be smaller and not completely pounded flat) and lots of sauce (little things). Das Sudhaus ist ein Restaurant, das zur Firma Anton Paar gehört. Die Öffnungszeiten sind etwas speziell, Montag bis Donnerstag erst ab 16:00 Uhr. Das wird daran liegen, dass das Restaurant Mittags nur für Mitarbeiter von Anton Paar geöffnet hat, es gibt auch eine Kantine. Abends gibt es aber nur Ala Card. Die Speisen sind sehr sehr gut. Ich hatte das originale Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb mit Petersilienkartoffeln und Preiselbeeren, ausgezeichnet, wenn auch etwas stark gesalzen, aber ich mag es würzig. Die Auswahl sieht auf den ersten Blick etwas klein aus, aber das wäre übertrieben, es ist für alle was dabei. Zum Restaurant gehört auch eine eigene Brauerei. Es gibt mehrere Sorten Bier zur Auswahl. Das Helle hat mir persönlich nicht so gut geschmeckt, die anderen habe ich nicht probiert. Hervorzuheben ist die besonders schöne Einrichtung. Es macht den Eindruck, als ob hier kürzlich saniert worden ist. Die Kantine und die Bar sehen sehr modern aus. Die Möbel wirken total neu und unbenutzt, alles ist perfekt sauber. Besonders beeindruckt war ich von den sanitären Anlagen. Alles total schön, total modern, und absolut sauber. So gehört sich das. Im Herren-WC steht sogar ein kleiner Stehtisch mit ein paar Toilettartikeln, wie Deo, Mundwasser und Haargel. Sowas ist mir noch nie unter gekommen, beeindruckend. Die Preise bewegen sich im höheren Bereich. Das Wiener Schnitzel kostet 20 EUR, das Lachsfilet 22 EUR. Man muss kein Millionär sein, um hier essen zu gehen, aber für das tägliche Abendessen ist es doch etwas teuer. Dennoch werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder kommen, ich kann das Sudhaus...
