Augustiner Keller - Goldener Engl — Restaurant in Hall in Tirol

One of the most exceptional experiences in my traveling this year. This absolutely beautiful hotel is more like stepping back in time and living in another century. I was captivated by details of the sizeable room and the exemplary cleanliness. Additionally, the manager and staff are completely top shelf. Some of the staff have been there for years and have literally started with this being their first job. You can also see in reception as well as the restaurant that the staff are close and regularly are pitching in to help another member of the staff.

This is a review for the restaurant downstairs. The food is excellent! Generous servings and great value. We had the pork weiner schnitzel and the roast pork, with sides of sauerkraut and grilled vegetables. The atmosphere sitting outdoors was lovely - it's a beautiful town. Only downside is we forgot Austria allows smoking outdoors at restaurants so during our meal, a couple at the next table lit up a pipe and cigarette. My asthma was immediately triggered. Australia is way ahead in non-smoking legislation - you cannot smoke at any eating establishment. We've learned our lesson! Eat indoors...

I recently spent a few nights at this hotel due to working in the area. In stark contrast to the big name chain I stayed in on my way out I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean. The hotel WiFi was excellent and not restricted to a single device like some places. The breakfast while simple tasted fantastic. I enjoyed my stay, the building is not perfect, but it has character and that for me made the stay all the more enjoyable. I would happily stay again without work picking...
