Restaurant Pizzeria Café Bar Goldener Hirsch — Restaurant in Hall in Tirol

My family & I've eaten at the Goldener Hirsch (Golden Deer), the food is fantastic, I really enjoyed their Calzone, and will in the future too, & another of my relatives had their goats cheese pizza, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

I can't really, comment, on the decor of the restaurant, as we sat outside on one occasion, to eat, & the other time, we only called in, to take away ordered food, for our trip. From what I saw when odering to take out, the interior looked ok, although a bit dark, either the lighting was turned down or off at the time of our visit, or it's the interiors dark wood that causes the seemingly dark impression. Also, the corridor to the toilets is quite dark, with only a fire escape light visible.

We will be eating here again this year, & look forward to the great food, if we eat at the restaurant, as opposed to taking the food away, I will add my thoughts on the decor, then.

The only 02 downsides, I feel with this restaurant are:

No car park, the nearest car park is across a busy main road (the B171), bordering a local park. You have to walk a long way, to get to the restaurant's toilets, which is awkward for people who can't walk very far, easily, especially after a flight of stairs, down into the main restaurant...

Looked promising when arriving but was quickly disappointed with the lack of service. With each dish taking a concerning amount of time to get out of the kitchen the meal itself was also disappointing. With 2 out of 3 pieces of meat being dry or tough, no noticeable seasoning and with little to no flavor it was not even close to being worth the fair price for the portion. After diner and ordering desert we had to wait 45+ minutes for 2 deserts to get to our table and it being even more disappointing than the diner. Well, this was lousy (double underlined, with two exclamation marks). The restaurant is located between the castle and the old town. Unfortunately, there were only a few shaded spots in the garden, and those were already taken, so we had to sit inside. The staff directed us to the only room where food was being served — which, unfortunately, reeked of the toilets (apparently doubling as a smoking room) as well as of the kitchen. They mixed up the orders and brought us the wrong dishes. The food itself was fairly decent, and the prices were reasonable. But once again — the cursed...
