Altstadthotel, Cafè Eck — Restaurant in Lienz

This hotel has a restaurant attached to it that has a large dining area on the main square in Lienz. It was very relaxing sitting under the umbrellas in the square looking at the beautiful buildings and the surrounding hills.||||It was just after 3.00pm and we had just completed the bike ride from San Candido and were quite hungry, thirsty and tired. We made for the main square as we knew there were a number of restaurants there. At the first they just ignored us and went on putting cutlery etc out no doubt for the evening. At the second - no luck. Looked at us as if we had two heads and said the kitchen was closed. At the third, Altstadthotel, great friendly welcome. Absolutely they could provide us with some lunch and something to drink, please take a seat at one of their tables.||||Service was good and food and drink arrived without delay. In the summer months, the main streets of the Altstadt become pedestrian zones and restaurants set up their services on patios and terraces. We did not stay at the hotel but only stopped for a wonderful lunch in the sun. The service was prompt and friendly and the schnitzel and fries were simply delicious!||After lunch we walked the length of the pedestrian zone and enjoyed the shopping. The views all around include mountains and quaint shops. Near the hotel is the Schloss Liebburg....very photogenic.||We were en route to Bolzano and this route through the south Austrian Tirol and then into the Italian Dolomites was simply beautiful...good road, great views. Mi dispiace parlare cosi perché adoro quel posto e ho anche lavorato li. Mi sono sempre trovata molto bene a parte con una cameriera. Ma pazienza. Non mi sedevo da lei e andava sempre tutto molto bene. Oggi invece una vergogna. Ho ordinato il mio solito panino con hamburger di verdure ,e' arrivato panino con hamburger di spinaci. Voi direte anche gli spinaci sono una verdura. Si vero ,ma se mangio spinaci mi viene diarrea una settimana. Ho reclamato e la cameriera non conosceva nemmeno la differenza. Mi e' arrivato il panino giusto,COMPLETAMENTE FREDDO.... io ho fatto la cameriera e la cuoca e questo era avanzato da qualche tavolo. Puo' succedere ho pensato io. Sono andata subito al banco a reclamare e la cameriera HA ALZATO GLI OCCHI AL CIELO.... lo ha riportato in cucina , aspettato un sacco per niente. Naturalmente mia figlia e la mia amica hanno finito di pranzare... Per fortuna avevo ordinato anche patatine . Quando mi hanno riportato il panino per l'ennesima volta.... di nuovo freddo. Badate bene ,non tiepido ,il pane era completamente freddo... Reclamo per l'ennesima volta gia' innervosita ,per non dir di peggio, e la cameriera mi risponde che il pane non sara' mai caldo!!!!!! Cheeeeee!!!!! E non mi ha lasciato nemmeno parlare... quando c'era Frau Moser, o con Britta ,la mia cameriera preferita, una cosa cosi non sarebbe mai accaduta. Non tanto per il panino ma per il comportamento delle cameriere. In sintesi? Meglio mcDonald dove sono andata poi.

Rispondo continuando,non so come farlo in altro modo. Io ho fatto la cameriera e non mi sono mai comportata cosi. Non lo faccio piu' perché e' un lavoro pazzesco ma da nessuno sono mai stata trattata cosi. Britta e' la cameriera perfetta, sempre paziente e sorridente. Lei non si sarebbe mai comportata cosi. E ho fatto anche la cuoca: non esiste che un panino caldo esca dalla cucina freddo. Non era nemmeno tiepido ma freddo. Ma ok. Puo' succedere. Ma il comportamento delle cameriere e' inaccettabile.
