The City Cafe in Lienz is located directly on the main square and is the perfect place for people watching in summer - to see and to be seen!Large outside seating area in summer. Inside has cosy and traditional styling with separate smoking area.Basic food menus with snacks and salads. More the place to go and drink a coffee and eat a cake which are excellent! Great ice creams too!Prices are fair considering you are on the main square.Service is always good and food and drinks turn up quickly, even when it's busy.Large selection of cakes, sweets and chocolates to take-away - perfect for gifts.Does get busy and finding a table is sometimes a challenge but a short wait is well worth it. The worst service we had so far in Austria. There was dog at the next table, and whenever waitress came to serve us, she rolled her eyes and acted very annoyed because dog was slightly in the way. The dog was lovely and very well behaved. If you are not welcoming to animals, then put sign up at the entrance. Her mood totally ruined everything. Both us and next table felt very uncomfortable by this. We also asked if we could receive the receipt together with drinks, since we were short on time and limited by bus departure.
