They use frozen pre-cooked kebabs instead of making on their own
I was there with my friend last week, and I ordered chicken sheek kebab.
First of all, what do we expect from the restaurants when we order dishes with meat? That they do not use frozen pre-cooked meat from grocery stores, right? But here, the chicken they used for the sheek kebab is actually from the Indian store nearby which is frozen and pre cooked, and comes in packets of 15-20 kebabs which hardly costs 1€ each. Immediately after taking a bite of the kebab I got to know they used the frozen ones as I already bought them from the Indian store once. They charged me about 16€ for that sheek kebab here which consisted of 6 of those frozen pre-cooked kebabs from the store nearby.
I expect when I go to restaurants, that they prepare it by themselves and not from any grocery store which is pre-cooked, that is why I am paying them? I expect them to keep the integrity and not milk money off the customers? Then, there's no point in going to restaurants, I can buy it from grocery stores and make one for myself, it's much cheaper done that way.
All in all, very unsatisfied and did not expect I would have to eat just 6 frozen pre-cooked kebabs for...
Read moreA friend recommended having dinner at Namastey after having a great experience in this restaurant recently, so I went there with certain expectations. The service was really good! The waiters were able to create a good mood! I had the Dal (I don't recommend it!), while my friends ordered other vegetarian dishes, mainly with cheese. Theirs had a better taste. If you usually eat light, organic, local, or self-grown food, taking a lot of care in how the food is prepared (no additives and weird stuff) - from salads to cooked food, your stomach might not like the dishes in this restaurant, even if your tongue enjoys the taste. Mine is still struggling after 3 hours!... :-| I definitely regret not having taken plain Basmati rice - that one couldn't go wrong. But rice I can have at home too, right? I would definitely recommend they have a better air conditioning system or at least turn on the one they have. If the smell of food was so present all around the restaurant, I don't want to know how it was in the kitchen. Of course, you have to wash all your clothes and shower after this kind of dinner. So, if none of the above bothers you, you may consider to...
