I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent visit to the Burger King outlet in Parndorf, Austria, on December 30th.
As a tourist from South Korea, I visited the Pandorf Burger King at approximately 2:50 pm and ordered a Whopperburger set, costing 10.5 euros, which I paid in cash. Shortly after the transaction, I remembered having a 2.5 euro discount voucher for the outlet. I promptly inquired with the female employee if the price could be recalculated with the discount. Unfortunately, I was informed that it was not possible due to the lateness of the request – maximum 5 second lateness.
This response surprised me, as in my extensive travels to over 40 countries, I have generally found it common practice to cancel a payment and recalculate with a discount, especially when there is no one waiting in line. Despite this, I asked if a refund was possible, and the employee confirmed. At that time a man who appeared to be a manager came by, at which point the female employee explained the situation to him by Austria Language.
After listening her explanation, The manager asked me “ Are you kidding??”, which makes me super surprised. Then I again asked if a refund and recalculation with the coupon were possible, and this time I was flatly denied. What he said was only refund is possible option I can choose.
Feeling disheartened and no longer in the mood to dine at that restaurant, I opted for a refund and left the premises. Both employees said to me "BYE", and I decided to have lunch at a nearby McDonald's.
Having visited many Burger King outlets around the world, I must admit that the customer service at Burger King in Austria, especially in Pandorf, seems markedly different. While I respect local practices, I found the response from the employees confusing and disappointing.
Firstly, the inconsistency between allowing a refund but refusing to recalculate with the voucher discount perplexes me. It seems illogical and leaves me questioning the difficulty in recalculating the cost after applying the discount.
Secondly, the gestures and words used by the staff, such as "Are you kidding?" during the conversation, were quite unsettling. As a loyal Burger King fan, this was an unexpected and unpleasant experience.
Regrettably, due to the disappointing customer service at the Pandorf Burger King, I have decided to patronize McDonald's and other restaurants that consistently provide better customer service. In conclusion, I bid farewell to Burger King with a heavy heart, hoping for better experiences at other...

I want to ask personal at Kassa one thing, but they were standing talking to each other, it was a lot people there but were busy talking only. Finally i asked one woman, maybe manager, How many time it will cooks, on what I got also a QUESTION in answer 🤯🥴🤪🤷" For what you need this info?" No comments... I explain her , then she decided to answer this elementary and normal question from customer...so we lost more time. Rude personal, slow, not attentive to customers, no service at all. The food was really not tasty, daughter couldn't ate. It was the worst idea to...
Read moreFully pregnant with toddler, I had to call out for attention from staff to serve me at the till. I ordered a water and small fries, and got very surprised to be charged 4.50 Euros for a small bottle of still water. And total of over 8 euros for small fries and still water. I can only imagine family of 4 paying 18 euros plus 25 cents for plastic fee for 4 small bottles of still water. Really, it is just a regular chain restaurant. Something simple as water should have some ceiling for regulation from the government as on a hot sunny day, you will spend about 20 euros just for still water. That is a bit ridiculous to me. But I guess everyone decides if they want to spend that money. I...
