I’ve never written a review before, as I usually remain a ‘silent customer,’ but the absurdity of the problems we encountered here compelled me to break my silence. I was furious because the behavior of a single waiter ruined our entire experience.
The story began when we visited the place for the first time with a paper bag from the nearest grocery store as we wanted to dine in quickly and go back to our hotel. We sat at a small table for two near the back door of the cafe, overlooking the parking lot and ski rack (this detail is important). Shortly after we sat down, the waiter politely asked us to hide our paper bag, explaining that it would spoil the cafe’s appearance. Uh, okay… Later, we asked if our pizza could be cut and served on two separate plates, but our request was declined for the same reason — the waiter said it wouldn’t look nice.
Like bro, This is a roadside eatery, not a luxurious restaurant — why is the appearance such a concern? There are a ski lift and a ski rental just in 15 meters from the cafe. Who did you expect to come, businessmen?
The most frustrating issue was that the waiter never allowed us to sit at larger tables, forcing us to struggle with limited space for our dishes and belongings, often at tables with poor views. Once we tried to take a seat at the 4-seated table, we were gently asked to move to a 2-seated one, but after that a single guy sat to drink beer there and nobody joined him later.
When another waitress served us, she said nothing about that we took a 4-seated table and she never asked us to move.
On our final visit, we chose a different area of the cafe to avoid the waiter, but he found us and still asked us to move to a smaller table, citing an expected influx of customers. However, it was 2 PM — an unlikely time for skiers to return. Couldn’t we just eat in peace for 15 minutes? The restaurant was barely empty but many couples sat at 4-seated tables but I and my wife never could do so for some reason.
I've checked other negative reviews about the place and many of them didn't surprise me and I believe that they were about the exact same person.
I'm an always forgiving person as I understand how difficult the people's workdays are but the arrogant behavior doesn't match the place even little.
I believe the waiter is a top-notch professional, but in the wrong place. This behavior could be fair if it was a high-level restaurant with mind-blowing dishes and exceptional atmosphere but is a simple cafe where you never even see a "reserved" sign.
This cafe is amazing for its relatively low prices and tasty dishes, and under different circumstances, I would have broken my silence to write a glowing review. However, the waiter’s behavior compelled me to write a negative one instead.
Even so, I would definitely recommend to come over for a cheap schnitzel for €18, Hawaiian pizza (don't remember the price), and apple strudel with vanilla ice cream for €7, the dessert that was the reason we visited the place 4-5 times despite...
Read moreI don't expect the kitchen to be open till late in this part of the world, however the staff welcomed me at 20:30 with a straight 'pizza only now' and zero concerns about my disappointment. The food may be good but in a world class ski resort I would expect a little more 'attention' to incoming guests. With a slightly more sympathetic response I may have well gone along with...
