Restaurant Liebe Heimat — Restaurant in Saalbach-Hinterglemm

By far the worst restaurant we visited in the Saalbach area. The only good dish was the beef broth. It was downhill from there. Schnitzel was too salty with a few fries under cooked. "Spinach dumpling" is not a real dumpling, instead it is a ball of bread, spinach and some other unidentified bits. It tasted very bad and was swimming in butter. We returned this dish but still were charged for it based on the waitress claiming it was our fault we did not like it. Very disappointing meal. The place was empty which should be a warning. Spinach dumplings were not actual dumplings but a blob of bread and spinach and literally swimming in butter - we have returned it to the kitchen but still were charged - the waitress said it is our fault that we didn't like the dish. Schnitzel was very salty and fries were undercooked. The cherry on top was stale appel strudel which was heated in a microwave... Definitely not...

Friendly waitresses, who helpfully saw us struggling with the German menu and offered us an English one! Lovely relaxed, comfortable decor and ambience. Delicious traditional dishes and big portions. We had the boiled beef and pork mains and apple strudel. All great! Cooked well and lovely little touches and presentation, like edible flowers.
