My partner and I went for dinner last week and tried the 8 course surprise menu. The food was creative and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, I couldn’t wait to leave the restaurant - which is not the feeling I seek when spending EUR 400 on a meal for two.
There was a group of around 8-10 men at the other side of the restaurant who were extremely drunk and rowdy - shouting, banging the table, swearing, one was even brazenly picking his nose and eating it for 5 minutes. The section of the restaurant we were seated in was very quiet with not many tables which might have created a nice ambience if the space wasn’t totally overpowered by the sound of the drunk, sloppy, ill mannered group. I felt like I was back at university or at apres on the mountain, I struggled to have a conversation with my partner and generally felt extremely frustrated throughout. We are in our early 30s and enjoy a vibrant atmosphere but this was uncomfortable and disruptive.
Mid way through our meal the manager came over to say she was trying to do something about the noise of the group and I think she did speak to them. However, her one conversation had little impact. While I appreciate it’s difficult to control a group of drunk people, she could have come back to us to apologise, offer us to move into another section of the restaurant or discount our bill. Instead we never heard from her again after that one time.
Speaking to other staff (who were, it has to be noted, lovely), it became apparent that the noisy group were staying at the hotel and so were prioritised over guests only visiting the restaurant. We were told there were several other big groups staying at the hotel that week so I doubt our experience would be an isolated incident.
After a disappointing lack of initiative from the restaurant manager in addressing the situation, we raised the issue at the end of our meal with other staff who were apologetic and sympathetic and said they would try to address any issues in future. No good for us but future patrons may benefit. In the meantime I would be wary about going to this “fine dining” restaurant and be prepared for a louder, more disrupted meal than you might hope for. We left feeling resentful that our evening had...

The Cauliflower with Truffles was a great Truffle dish! Our favorite dish was the duck breast, the crunchy potatoes were the best potatoes Ive ever had. I felt like the ravioli was too hard to eat.
The atmosphere was amazing. Wasn't too crowded and the fireplace and space felt like a cozy home...
