Gasthof zur Krippe Tippeler — Restaurant in Schwaz

Visited on saturday; We are 3 jazz musicians, in Schwaz to perform at the festival - ordered soup and a main. Soup came relatively quick, we were done and started waiting for the mains. After over 1hr waiting, still no mains were served.

Katja the boss lady came around, I asked for a beer. She shows up with the bill (for food we didn't get yet) - we said, "perhaps we will order more, we just asked for a beer for now, will pay when we are leaving. by the way, can you please check our mains, been over an hour, we have a show to catch". She goes back to kitchen and comes back saying pejoratively and angry, "this is not mcdonalds, we make everything fresh, it's your fault because you ordered soup". we reminded her "all you need to say, sorry kitchen is busy, your food is coming up soon". She went on, switched to shouting at us in german, said she's calling the police. We were shocked, didn't even raise our voices or get up from seats. I seriously thought it's a prank. Can a customer not ask where the mains are after over 1hr?  The chef came out for no reason, threateningly. Few minutes later, food is served. She continued her aggression as we take first bites. The other waitress was also shocked, but it didn't seem like it was the first time she witnessed something like this from her boss. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. We tour heavily and go to over hundred restaurants, and at least 5-10 different gasthofs in Austria per year- never experienced anything like this. Avoid at all costs. Food was standard Austrian quality, which is good, but definitely tastes like garbage when it's served with this...

Wir sind spontan nach einem Besuch der Kristallwelten hier eingekehrt und haben sofort einen schönen Platz im Biergarten bekommen. Das Ambiente ist sehr einladend, mit einer angenehmen Mischung aus traditionellem Flair und gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam, sodass wir uns von Anfang an willkommen gefühlt haben.

Zum Essen bestellten wir den Zwiebelrostbraten mit grünen Bohnen und Röstkartoffeln sowie die Lende im Speckmantel mit Pilzen und Spätzle. Beide Gerichte waren nicht nur sehr schön angerichtet, sondern auch geschmacklich hervorragend – saftig, fein abgestimmt und rundum ein Genuss. Man merkt, dass hier viel Wert auf Qualität gelegt wird.

Sehr beeindruckt hat uns auch das Innere des Hauses: die historische Einrichtung mit den verschiedenen Stuben verleiht dem Restaurant einen ganz besonderen Charakter und lädt zum Verweilen ein.

Insgesamt ein rundum gelungener Besuch, den wir nur empfehlen können – sowohl für ein gemütliches Essen im Biergarten als auch für einen stimmungsvollen Abend in den...
