Gasthaus Goldener Hirschen — Restaurant in Stadt Bregenz

Favorite bar in the whole Bregenz. I don’t know about the restaurant side but the atmosphere in the bar is really awesome. The service and the design is excellent. There are lots of different beers you can try and the prices are all ok. The worst thing about this bar is their menu. The food options coming from the Restaurant side is ok (with the quality I find it a bit pricey) but they only have beers (mostly bottle, they only have local one on tap, which I find a pity in a beer bar). The menu itself is also hard to read and fully German. It’s sometimes kinda impossible to choose a thing even if you speak German. The design of the bar is like a pub in England and automatically you ask if they have any whiskey but they unfortunately don’t. They also don’t have cocktails. Just beers and limited selection of wines. If they change to be an extension of the restaurant and be a bar by it’s own it will be way...

Too expensive for the quality of food they serve.

This is a good place to have a drink, specially beer. Ordered a salad, and it tasted like if it was prepared hours before. Pungent dressing. A beef tartar was served with vinegar pickles on the side, the vinegar amount of the pickles was so large that it ruined the beef tartar, it tasted like vinegar. Toast bread served with the beef tarter was cold a chewy, french fires the same cold, chewy and fatty. A disastrous dinner experience. It took forever to order the meals and to pay the bills... but in the middle they rush you with the food because they want table...

The food is good. The chief of the restaurant (or the chief of the servor ? ) is a very nice person. But the servor with the white clothes made us very unconfortable (when we said that we would like water, she didn't ask us how much milliliter do we want, and she 'made the choice' for us by giving us the bigger one, which is of course more expensive.) She didn't say one word, no suggestion, no "welcome", no face expression... Well, I would never hire one person like her. But the food is good and the restaurant atmosphere/environment...
