I'm honestly at a loss. I don't know if it's because we looked too young and the waiter thought we didn’t deserve any attention, or if he assumed we couldn’t afford to pay. After we ordered our wine and coffee the first time, and our cups were empty, the waiter made four trips—going between the table directly in front of us, the one to our right, and the one diagonally in front on the right—patiently asking those guests if they needed anything else, while completely ignoring us. I find that utterly absurd. We had planned to enjoy a leisurely evening at this restaurant, but due to this inferior service attitude, we ended up asking for the bill and leaving immediately. Even though we said we wanted to pay, we still had to wait a long time for a waiter to come. We have never been ignored like this before. The absurdity extended to the accordion player in the restaurant, who lingered at several tables in the front to play for other customers, then glanced at us and immediately left. We had even prepared a tip, planning to give it to him when he came to our table, but we never expected that in this restaurant, both the waiters and the musician would behave so ridiculously! What, do you think young people aren’t worth serving??? I do not recommend this restaurant, and that is why I only gave it one star. If it were possible, I wouldn't even give it one star. (Attached is a video taken in the restaurant to prove that we were indeed there today and are not making this up.)

Was there for company event. The atmosphere there was fantastic, the inside decoration of the building is old fashion and beautiful. The staff was nice helpful and friendly, and the ladies are wearing traditional Austrian dresses, that looks interesting. The food was not that great but it was ok, and they have fried vegetables, different kinds of salads if you are a vegetarian or don’t want to eat meats, but they also have lots of options for meat eaters as well. They also prepared for us some traditional austrian desserts and they also quite good I would say. The location is reachable by public transport, you also can find place for your car if you driving to there. Haven’t see any play zone for kids, maybe I missed it. But they have grape yards in the back, that would be a nice place for parents who had kids with them, and day time would be better for this. Don’t really think there is also wheelchair friendly

We visited Fuhrgassl-huber at the end of March while we were in Vienna. I had emailed to book a wine tasting in advance and it was all easily arranged with Katharina who hosted our tasting on the day. From the moment we arrived it was a hugely enjoyable experience. Katharina was an incredibly amiable and informative host, and guided us through the history of the winery, Austrian wine in general and her own journey as a sommelier. The wines were delicious and were flowing like the chatty conversation. We were grateful Katharina took us into the cellars, also. The experience exceeded our expectations and represents tremendous value for money. We then had a very tasty lunch in the beautiful restaurant afterward before walking among the picturesque vineyards. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning!

Fuhrgassl-Huber is a renowned winery and Buschenschank (wine tavern) located in Neustift am Walde, on the outskirts of Vienna. Nestled in the picturesque hills of the Wienerwald (Vienna Woods), this family-run establishment has been cultivating wine for several generations, making it a staple of the Viennese wine culture. Known for its traditional Heuriger experience, Fuhrgassl-Huber offers a unique setting where guests can enjoy the best of Vienna’s wine-making heritage.

The winery produces a variety of wines, with a focus on regional specialties such as Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Gemischter Satz, a field blend unique to the Viennese area. These wines are often enjoyed on-site at the Buschenschank, which offers a cozy, rustic atmosphere for tasting wine alongside a selection of traditional Austrian cold dishes, including spreads, cheeses, and cured meats.

Fuhrgassl-Huber is celebrated not only for the quality of its wines but also for its commitment to preserving local traditions. The scenic vineyard views and relaxed environment make it a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking an authentic taste of Vienna’s wine-growing culture, just a short distance from the...
