Groissböck U4 Meidling — Restaurant in Vienna

The place is nice and service was excellent. We have tried an Austrian chocolate cake here; then an ice cream and two coffees with milk. Enjoyed everything. There was only one flaw in this experience: payment was cash-only, and we were told it just after having finished. For us it was not a problem, as we come from another European country and carry some cash too, but try to imagine a tourist coming from the other part of the world, confident that their credit card will be accepted, only to find at the end of the service that it is not accepted? Plus, it sounds a bit out of time not to accept cards in 2022, this was the only place I have visited in Vienna where it wasn't accepted. Just for this reason I cannot leave more than 4 stars: you are located in a city full of tourists, and not everyone is a European carrying Euros. They have very good coffee and delicious pastries! Everything fresh and made from scratch!!😍 My absolute favorite are the poppyseed-apricote bars and which I enjoyed with a "Verlängerter" (excellent coffee). Die Atmosphäre in diesem Café ist sehr angenehm, das Personal sehr freundlich, das Essen ( kleine Gerichte zB. Gulaschsuppe, Frittatensuppe, Eiernockerl, Salate schmeckten mir sehr gut!

Die Mehlspeisen und Torten sind auch super lecker... :)

Hab bei den Mehlspeisen leider nur einen Kritikpunkt und das war bei meinen letzten Besuch. Habe mir eine Bananenschnitte bestellt, aber sie hat mir leider nicht so gut geschmeckt wie die anderen Mehlspeisen (die waren bisher immer sehr, sehr gut)

Die Bananenschnitte war leider viel zu trocken, wie wenn sie nicht mehr ganz so frisch war. :(

Aber sonst war bei meinem letzten Besuch alles in Ordnung, keine lange Wartezeiten, der Café Latte war sehr gut, mein Begleiter trank eine heiße Schokolade die auch sehr gut schmeckte und er aß eine Sachertorte die wie er mir sagte sehr köstlich war! Personal sehr höflich.

Also ich empfehle allen die ein nettes alt Wiener Café suchen dieses zu Besuchen!
