It's a good indicator if there are not really tourists seen at a Viennese restaurant or pub. But I have to say it's meanwhile very difficult to find a nice restaurant with an original Viennese flair and reasonable prices — too many were closed during the last the decades.
The Brandstetter is one of these old places and it is still open. It's located a little bit outside of the side, but it's directly reachable with the tramway no. 43 from the city. The interior design is a relic of the past, but that is the reason why this place is so special. And don't forget that you are at an original Viennese wine and beer pub, where usually only people are coming, who are really living there. So step in and don't expect a fancy place, but enjoy a wonderful Czech tap beer with a Wiener Schnitzel and potato salad. Or come after work and have one more glasses of wine and watch a soccer...

Some serious quality ingredients are used in their recipes, that is for sure. The staff is really friendly and eager to help. The place has a vintage vibe to it, up to the point that here and there some renovation might be due, but other than that, the main focus is on food and serving, which were both excellent. Don't miss this place and make sure to have cash with you, because unfortunately cards are...

The food seemed reheated, the fries were so dry and greasy that you’d need a dentist afterward, and the meat... honestly, the sole of a flip-flop would have been more tender. The only decent thing? The draft beer. But let’s be honest, the restaurant had nothing to do with that. And to top it all off, the waiter didn’t even bring us our change—just threw a "Thank you!" at us and walked away. Well, no, thank you! If you’re looking for a good meal in Vienna, avoid this place at...
