Matuya — Restaurant in Vienna

My husband and I used to like this place. Unfortunately, our last experience was very bad. We ordered two all you can eat menus, but the waitress made a mistake and added only one menu. Meaning that some premium dishes like sashimi were extremely limited. Normally all you can eat sushis at night rate, have unlimited sashimi pieces. Matuya only allows 4 salmon sashimi portions per person. I asked the waitress to update it, and she did it half an hour later, which was bad to us, since we could only order 4 portions of sashimi since we only had one menu, and ended up paying two full menus. Also, it was very disappointing because we ordered some rolls which never came to the table. After one hour there, we only received less of the half of the portions we ordered. The restaurant did not have so many clients, so I never understood why they took so long or why they made so many mistakes. After an hour sitting there we had to leave, and almost 15 rolls we ordered did never come to the table, so we did not eat them. The waitress had updated the 2 menus instead of one, so we ended up paying ca. 55€ for eating less than half of the plates we ordered. Total scam, we felt robbed. I will not give this restaurant...

Das Essen war bisher immer hervorragend. Wir sind wertschätzend begrüsst worden und sind auch seit Juni 2019 Kunden. Das Essen hat eine gute Qualität. Anders als bei "Ebi", wo man sehr eng sitzt, hat man hier viel Luft, und kann sich auch so viel Zeit nehmen, wie man benötigt. Bei Ebi saßen wir im 1. Bez. immer eng, und hatten ein max. Zeitfenster von 2 Stunden, was ja die pure Frechheit ist. Der Preis von € 11,90 für All you can eat, ist ok (der Wochenendspreis So und Feiert. von 17,90 ist zu überdenken) , wenn man bedenkt, dass man hier auch Garnelen, Rindfleisch, Lachs, etc. erhält. Und man kann sich auch am offenen Buffet etwas für den Vorspeisen-Hunger holen bzw. auch nett angerichtete Salate und Desserts, sowie Eis. Das Negative zuletzt, und daher auch ganze 3 Sterne weniger, ich wollte sogar 4 Sterne abziehen, habs aber mal gelassen, weil es nur ums Service geht: Die Besitzer haben zu Anfang wild mit Gutscheinen um sich geworfen, und diese dann auch bis Ende Dezember verlängert. Doch plötzlich galten sie nicht mehr. Genauso die Stempelkarten, die zuerst doppelt gestempelt wurden bei 2 Personen, jetzt nur mehr 1x (was auch auf der Karte stand ... allerdings liest man es ja erst, wenn es auffällt). Auf Nachfrage bekam man keine guten Antworten. Da stellt sich die Frage, ob sie mit ihrem Gutschein-System kurzfristig Verluste eingefahren haben, und jetzt plötzlich umdenken mussten, weil der Umsatz zu gering ausfiel. Unangenehm, denn wenn jemand etwas erhält, dann danach fragt, und man es plötzlich aberkennt, ist da immer ein übler Beigeschmack, der bleibt. Man zahlt gerne 11,90, wenn es klar geregelt ist... bekommt man aber Gutscheine, und dann nimmt man sie wieder weg, kommt man sich vor, wie ein Bittsteller. Das ist keine gute Geschäftspraktik. Leider nützt es nicht viel mit den Besitzern zu sprechen, sie verstehen nicht, oder wollen nicht verstehen, sind aber natürlich beschwichtigend und nett geblieben. Wir werden wieder kommen, aber es ist irgendwie unangenehm geworden, ... das muss man erst mal hinter sich lassen! - Und das übliche Problem, dass die Klimaanlage macht, ist leider auch nicht gelöst worden. Es war im Sommer teilweise eiskalt, und im Winter in manchen Bereichen auch. Andere Lokale im Auhofcenter haben Lösungen gefunden/erarbeitet, aber Matuya hat es bisher nicht geschafft. Sie sind also noch nicht ganz rund in ihren Handlungen, und müssen eventuell...

Very good restaurant. My favorite japanese/asian restaurant in Auhof Center and whole Wien West. It has a good looking interior and friendly staff. It's modern as they provide a tablet if you choose to eat buffet. Sushi, most warm meals and drinks are ordered by tablet. Some appetizers (mostly fried things), salads and desserts are to be taken yourself from the buffet. You can also eat from the menu here but it's not worth it really, the buffet is way cheaper (especially if you pay the noon price and not the evening price). The food is very good. The sushi, because it's ordered individually and isn't out at the actual buffet, is always freshly made and tastes great. The warm meals are warm and crispy....
