Pasta e Basta — Restaurant in Vienna

A very pleasant and elegant restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The place feels quite fancy, and overall, we had a good experience.

We ordered a full meal—starter, main, and dessert. The bruschetta starter was average, nothing special, but still fine. For the main course, we had pasta vongole with clams. Mine was good, but my friend’s dish unfortunately had quite a bit of sand. She mentioned it to the staff, and they were very understanding and professional—they quickly replaced the dish without any issue, and the second one was much better. For dessert, we had the petit gâteau, which was slightly overcooked, but still enjoyable.

What really stood out was the service. The waitstaff were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful—especially one waiter (I wish I had caught his name), who was particularly kind and attentive. The level of service truly made up for the small imperfections in the food.

I also noticed a few reviews here on google saying they had a bad experience when booking through The Fork, but that wasn’t the case for us at all. We booked with The Fork, gave a generous tip, and everything went smoothly—even with the plate change. No one made us feel uncomfortable; quite the opposite.

The terrace has a great vibe, although it can get a bit loud due to its location—right next to a church, the tram line, and a busy street. People were talking quite loudly to hear each other. Inside, however, the restaurant is spacious and beautifully designed—much calmer.

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff – service was attentive and welcoming. We stopped by for lunch, and while the place felt inviting, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The carbonara came in a creamy ham-based version, which unfortunately lacked the flavor and authenticity of the original recipe – it was rather greasy and bland, with no trace of egg or Italian cured pork. Prices are quite ambitious given the quality. Good intentions are clearly there, but perhaps the kitchen team hasn't yet experienced truly good...

This is a classy Italian restaurant with good food and even better atmosphere. The restaurant is located right across the street from a beautiful brick church. The patio area was so thoughtfully put together to create a classy yet laid back environment that maximizes comfort for its guests.
