I was passing by IKEA Nord restaurant around midday, dying from hunger and ordered the meatballs and tiramisu. The food was absolutely meh — but I figured it would at least keep me alive for a few hours. Instead, I ended up seriously sick. I got stomach pain shortly after, and within 24–36 hours developed severe food poisoning: abdominal pain, chills, headache, dizziness — the whole suite of symptoms we all dread but know too well. These persisted for over a week and completely derailed my Easter week, both professionally and personally.
I immediately informed IKEA to warn them and ensure they check the food batches and avoid food poisoning other people. A week later, they finally responded — of course not to apologize or offer compensation, but to say in order for them to consider starting investigation I need to provided my personal details such as full postal address (?). Nevertheless, it’s worth mentioning that the space is well-suited for sitting and offers a good play area...
Read moreI am not sure what Ikea is doing or changing but the taste of the food keeps on getting worse, or is just not there. Everything tastes bland, no salt, no spices, nothing. The safest bet is taking the absolute classic meatballs with pure and take a few of the salt and pepper packs so you can make it taste somewhat ok. But the more special menus with quinoa or sweet potato pure - I would recomment staying away if you are expecting it to taste like anything. Even salt can’t really save...
