Studio Café — Restaurant in New Providence

I contacted Studio Cafe months ago inquiring about seeing what was left the old Compass Point Studios which was turned into this wonderful restaurant when it shut down. Shawn the owner wrote me back within in minutes saying he would be happy to show me around. Fast forward several months and my wife and I arrived in Nassau and took the 30 minute taxi ride from the port to Studio Cafe. We were not disappointed...Shawn was amazing and so friendly. We toured the grounds and old parts of Compass Point Studios with him and our taxi driver Benjamin who it turned out had recorded at Compass Point in the 90's!! Once done we had some drinks and the Thai spring rolls which were outstanding and fresh!! I wish we could have stayed into the evening and eaten dinner and caught some more of the amazing vibe this place gives off...hopefully next time!! ...

What a let-down. We walked here from our hotel (do not recommend this as the road is narrow and dangerous and there is no sidewalk), but that’s beside the point. The food was awful and so expensive. Ordered lobster tacos and they came in a Doritos shell!? Not to mention the lettuce inside was old and wilted. Yuck. Also ordered fish sticks from the kids menu and they were sad and flavorless. The lemonade was even bad. For the two of us it cost $80! We didn’t even order alcohol. We were so disappointed because there are so many other great reviews for this place, but don’t be fooled. The place next door however, Aquafire, has good dessert and we should have gone there for...

Cool looking upstairs restaurant with a awesome ocean view. First time visit for lunch. Unfortunately there was a group of big drinkers & staff forgot about other customers. Took a little while to get attended.

Ordered salad & it was delicious with quality greens. Ordered burger, it was taking a while, when a different waitress asked if I was waiting, she saw it was already served by kitchen. Fries were cold & burger was lukewarm. Couple across the room experienced the same with their appetizer & had to return it.

Staff is friendly. I hope to return & hoping they learn not to forget other customers, when they have a group...
