This is the second branch of the original Honey Thai Restaurant in Manama opposite gold city mall. This not that new as they been operating since last year. Their location is not easy to get if you’re not following google map, especially when you are not familiar with the place. Next to it is another Thai restaurant and Thai grocery store. They have 2 spot parking space so you need to drive around to get a parking. The restaurant is spacious, with family section too. They have other section which is similar to Japanese table setting, like you are seating on the floor. Not literally! The place is clean and the staffs are always helpful and attentive. Who wouldn’t be satisfied with Thai cuisine, always taste good. They know how to make your stomach full and happy as they make good food here. We love how everything on their menu is good to share. From our favorite seafood tom yum soup to fried rice, ohh its the best. This is our comfort food especially when you are totally exhausted from day job, Thai food relaxes our body. And we always end up sooo full. Their price just as the serving is good to share which I mentioned already.
Anyways, you know there’s a comparison between the original restaurant and the new one. Which we’re still trying to figure out, one might be the atmosphere or the food itself. We will soon find it out.

Read moreA very old barebones Thai restaurent in Bahrain with a reputation for authentic Thai cuisine and to an extent it is with no frills attached. This was the second unit I visited near Exhibition Road and not the one near Bab AlBahrain. Two Bangadeshi waiters without uniform were running the show. After ordering, we waited a considerable time to even get or orders in and then it became an endless wait for food. They were busy providing a bulk quantity of takeaway. While we are seated, a talabat driver came sat endlessly had a fight with one of the guys and walked away. Finally we got the soup and one main on the table and no rice. Rice came after another 10 or 20 minutes with the second mains while we were waiting the third mains came when we were making most of what was on the table and the third mains came when we were ready to go. No apologies, no courtesy cancelation of the mains we did not touch. Cheap plastic disposables were provided. Threadbare carpet dysfunctional AC. Bad attitude. It was a ruined experice. I will never go back again. Honey Thai is known for authentic no frills food without the glamor, and their original outlet almost lives up to it, but this was some different...
