One of my favorite Lebanese restaurants, but the value for money is going down the drain year after year. I closely follow pricing and portions over the many restaurants available in Bahrain as I order a lot, and while I do understand that all restaurants are increasing prices due to the current world situation, it seems Shoo Fee Ma Fee has taken it to another level.
I recall the price of chicken shawarma being around 450 fils. I watched it go up and up until it hit about 950 fils. Sure I was annoyed but their portions were still quite large (see value for money above). Not so long after that increase, the price shot up again and now we are at 1.050 Dinars. I was still ok with that because i thoroughly enjoy their food. But when restaurants start reducing portion sizes (shrinkflation), that is when it starts becoming an issue for me and customers start feeling like they are getting ripped off.
I ordered a chicken shawarma and meat arayes just now and when the delivery driver handed me the bag i was shocked at how light the delivery bag was. I opened the bag and to my surprised I saw a tiny sized skinny chicken shawarma and a meat arayes packaged into a tiny container. This was never the case and the shawarma in specific used to be MUCH larger. If i was to estimate I would say their chicken shawarma used to be 20-30% larger.
If you guys want to increase prices to survive today's world go right ahead but when you do that coupling it with shrinking your portions eventually some (more wary) consumers pick up on that and guess what happens then? They stop buying from you.
Despite all this, if you want to eat tasty Lebanese food Shoo Fee Ma Fee is great, but to me, the value for money is gone, and once that is gone there is no...
Read morePassed by the restaurant heading towards another one and their sign caught my eye, was looking at it and the manager invited me in to take a look at the menu. The service team was so nice and all smiling and welcoming, the menu looked good and the atmosphere looked nice so we decided to give it a try. We were 4 adults and 2 kids and ordered hummus with meat, motabal, stuffed vine leaves, kibbeh, arayes meat, arayes cheese, fattah chicken, mix shawerma (8 pieces - 4 chicken and 4 meat), mix grill, pizza (half margerita and half peperoni), big bottle of water and 2 diet cokes. The cost was 34.4 BHD, am not sure if that is considered good in Bahrain but according to my short visit here and the restaurant I went to it's a very good price for what we got. All the food was great and the quantities was good, maybe the only 2 things i will improve is the motabal as it was a bit bitter for us and the meat arayes wasn't the best i had but it's ok. The shawerma and the garlic paste was phenomenal to be honest, the kids loved the pizza (they finished it all and i couldn't try it unfortunately :D ), the mix grill was good especially the sheesh tawook. Overall I recommend this restaurant for their superb service and friendliness and their great food, I will certainly visit them again if I visit...
Read moreI’m writing to share my disappointment with a recent order. I received a Shish Tawouk wrap and an Akkawi with Zaatar (half-half) — both arrived cold and didn’t meet your usual quality.
What was more frustrating, though, was the manager’s response when I called. Instead of apologizing, he blamed the delivery driver and said, “What do you want me to do?” That’s not how a customer complaint should be handled.
As a customer, I don’t care whose fault it was — I care about how the issue is addressed. Basic customer service means listening, taking ownership, and offering at least a sincere apology. Blaming others and dismissing the issue only shows a lack of professionalism.
I hope this feedback helps improve how complaints are handled in the future. I’ve enjoyed your food before and would like to continue doing so, but only if I feel respected...
