Went here for dinner because of all the great reviews. Not sure why there are so many positive reviews. This is a road side dive. You sit at a bench on the side of the road. Ambiance is a zero. The woman who served us was pleasant but after we had our fish and chips fried told us we should’ve gotten it broiled cause then it wouldn’t have been so dry. That would’ve been useful info to have while we were ordering. The fish was dry. There was no malt vinegar or tartar sauce available. There were a substantial number of bones in the filleted fish and the menu is extremely limited. This is not a restaurant. It is a hole in the wall. First time in my life that I sat across from a KFC and was envious that I wasn’t eating there. I am not saying not to go. Real Deal. I would like to say that the food was good. However, pricing for the fish was not fair at all. To be so close to the ocean- they have access. Small businesses like Fred's should establish agreement with local fisherman and control their cost. Furthermore, I know the street is busy and music is being played all over the place on Oistin strip; but where's Fred's Bar music what's the business vibes. How do you keep your customers engaged? Like I said the food is good, but turn on some music and move and groove in the kitchen. Employees will be happy cause they are in control of the selection or vibes that the music may bring.

We ate a several places and Fred’s was by far our favorite. No other place we ate at compared to both the flavor and portions we received at Fred’s. The amount of fish served made it the best deal we found. The fish and the mac pie were also the best seasoned out of anything else we tasted.
